When I moved to Denver I was in my late 20's and the prospect of living in a larger city was appealing. Now that I'm older, and we have a shit ton of homeless people, a fairly good sized illegal population, fucking progressives moving here from uber liberal states like California, and the rising violent crime rate, I'm over it.

Yeah, we wouldn't do it if she didn't want to. In discussing it last night, the wife wants the kid to finish this school year here, so depending on how things go, we might leave earlier and leave the kid with her grandparents if we found housing and jobs before the summer. We already started to browse houses last night and it's ridiculous how cheap the price of houses are in most of Montana and Idaho compared to here. If we sold our house here, we could keep a sizable amount aside to live on and still put a huge down payment on a new house.

We just recently refinanced and our house appraised at $350K...we paid $195K barely 5 years ago for it.

It was awesome to see Falcon Heavy have a flawless launch, one lost booster notwithstanding. This is definitely the best bet we have of actually getting people to set foot on Mars. Thank god for people like Elon Musk who share the passion for space travel and exploration. Hopefully SpaceX and NASA can work together going forward.

As far as what a time to be alive, when I was back in school, the dreams were seeing people on the moon or Mars by now. When the second Space Shuttle was lost, it really put the brakes on manned space travel in the United States and it was really sad to see it happen. It really set us back a long way. :(

Winter Storm Warning

Significant amounts of snow, with total amounts of 25 to 35 cm is expected. Over higher terrain along the foothills local amounts of 50 cm could be seen.An area of heavy snow currently from Grande Cache to Medicine Hat, will slump southward today bringing heavy snowfall to all of southern Alberta.


They've closed some schools down and will be closing streets. We've already got a foot of snow and it's not stopping. ffs I needed to go to a couple of important places today for my Mom.

This needs to happen and I can't get down my back alley. Shit fuck.

And I'm also worried about the house. We have over a foot of snow on the roof, snow is still coming down and I sometimes fear that something will give out :|

Suffice to say, there's a design flaw with the ring seal on the flapper assembly that slowly leaks water out of the tank and causes 'ghost flushing' within the tank.

I only noticed it because I'm here alone throughout the day and it's quiet in the house.

If a toilet does an additional flush let's say once every 45 minutes or hour, imagine how much your water bill will increase.

The rubber seals are garbage and some report changing them multiple times and then eventually getting rid of the toilet.

Hoping my 'Oh-Ring' does the job :thumbsup:

I got some Halls last night, took one, and slept for about 6 hours. I took a hot shower and feel a little better. Both the sleep and shower helped. My throat's not as sore as it was yesterday. I'm still a little stuffy, but not as runny as I was. I'm still a little disconnected, but not so bad that I can't reason clearly, which is a point that I haven't even gotten to yet since this ordeal began. It's definitely not the flu, just a head cold. I just need to go back to bed and rest.

Easy to diagnose. Take the tank lid off, flush the toilet and use a marker to note a line where the water comes up to after a flush. Then look at it 15 minutes, 30 minutes later. If the tank water level is going down, it's likely and hopefully leaking through your flapper seal. And more hope in that ordering the necessary, yet simple parts stops the activity :thumbsup:

And I'm still not talking to you for deliberately using a triggering phrase on me. I hope you get snot on the front of your shirt. [-(

I had a severe stomach problem for 18 months, tried medications, treatments...my pancreas was creating toxic levels of lipase and finally a doctor told me that sometimes people evacuate all of the good and bad bacteria from their stomach. I took a strong probiotic supplement under his advice and within a week all of a sudden I felt hungry and not sick to my stomach. It felt like a miracle because I was having problems just eating toast and drinking water. Anyways, big believer in probiotic benefits and still take them occasionally when my guts start feeling weird.

And we had some garlic pills here that were rude and ended up throwing them out too...you can find frozen foods steeped in curry and probably order them. My old East Indian friend swore by curry preventing colds and he was rarely sick. He peeled paint off the bathroom walls however, but didn't get many colds :lol:

From October to December it was very average weather and only a couple of dumps of snow.

However from Christmas on we've had repeated bouts of over -30 weather and about four feet of snow.

We need snow badly, in the mountains where all the water comes from to fill the reservoirs in the spring is at historic lows in many of the places. It's going to be scary this spring and summer if it gets as hot as it has been getting the last few summers.

After I broke my femur I had a long rehab...couple of years.

I went to the same park nightly to learn how to walk again and I have a million stories that finally led me to discover that the park became a meeting place for gays. It was so upsetting for the residents who lived on the fringes of the park, there was a newspaper article explaining the disgust and outrage of the locals. That same article would not make it for 30 seconds today :lol:

I didn't like the new Enterprise (I knew some things before even watching the show, like the saucer being able to disconnect from the rest of the ship :rolleyes: ) and the way the bridge looked more like my living room than a space ship :lol:

I do like Enterprise even though that series gets an awfully bad rap from people. Unfortunately I haven't even finished the 1st season of that one, I got about a third of the way thru it and then things just came up and I never went back to it. I might try and go back and watch it after I finish with Star Trek Garbage (AKA Discovery).

He's a fat Canadian guy and tells you how it's cooked, then he sits there and literally eats the whatever in real time giving you his impressions of it.

Most times he chews with his mouth open (I hate that) and comments as he's chowing down.

Dr Oetker is a maker with a lot of hidden brands meaning the company puts out frozen pizzas under varying names.

Story: Remember I got that Visa gift card for buying winter tires? It was for 70 dollars and I had already spent over 50 dollars of it. I had about 18.90 remaining on the card.

All of these frozen pizza brands were on sale from 2.87 - 3.33 each. So in the store I do some quick Jewish accounting and my bill comes out to 18.79 with tax :lol: :lol:

Most of them are normally around 4.50 to 5.00 dollars.

Actually GF linked me to this cooking site called Budget Bytes where this chick cooks real meals on the cheap.

She has a recipe for pizza dough and it works out to .59 cents for the recipe, .30 cents per pizza.

Way too expensive and they have the rep for that...but I've never been able to eat more than four pieces at one sitting.

As a comparison, at work when we did inventories on the weekend they would buy us some sort of cheapo chain pizza. I set the company record one Saturday by eating 11 pieces of pizza.
