Usually true, but an infamous game between Barbados and Grenada in 1994 turned logic upside-down.

Going into the last group game in a Caribbean Cup tournament, Barbados needed to beat Grenada by two goals to reach the final. A draw after 90 minutes would result in extra time whereas anything less than winning by two goals would see Grenada through to the final. The catch, however, was that the organisers had decided that in the case of extra time a golden goal would count as two goals.

Barbados took an early 2-0 lead, but Grenada made it 2-1 with seven minutes remaining.

One Barbadian striker realized that his team was unlikely to score another goal against Grenada with only a few minutes to go and Grenada playing adefensive tactic. Instead, he decided that their best chance of winning was to make the game go into extra time and score a golden goal, counting as two goals.

So he promptly powered the ball past his own stunned goalkeeper to make it 2-2.

Now, Grenada needed to score a goal—at either end—to avoid extra time and to go through to the final. The Grenada players, initially stunned by the goal and suddenly realizing what was going on, turned around and headed for their own net scoring on themselves.

With 7 minutes left, the Barbadians spent the rest of regulation trying to score on their own goal - while Grenada defended it.

This was made possible by women giving up their role as sexual arbiter and reducing sexuality to the lowest common denominator. Why did the feminists do this? It was their strategic answer to the age old stud/slut debate. It was a horrific decision that gave away the power. If they want it to change, they just have to set higher expectations for how they should be treated. They can't keep the double standard of feeling liberated by being a 3-hole Tinder girl while simultaneously saying men are pigs. No, you're all pigs now. Great job.

Well it finally sounds like they're making Without Remorse and Rainbow Six which IMO are two of the best.... but I hear they cast Michael B Jordan as John Clark? :lol: I'm a fan of the guy, but John Clark is an American Irish Catholic who went to Prep School, if you catch my drift. Also those two books are set probably 20+ years apart. Without Remorse is set around the Vietnam war, whereas in R6 John Clark is an older guy running the unit sometime in the late 90's. I've watched the first few episodes! I still have to finish Season 1 but it's good so far. They started selling faster, I think people thought since it was more expensive it was better :)

It's the headstock, lol. I've picked up many of the mid to high end epi les Paul's. They all felt good, and sounded good, but for $800, my made in us gibby les paul just feels better. Maybe it's the thin satin nitro finish, maybe it's the neck profile, or maybe it's in my head, shrug. I dunno. I've been waiting 18 months for the second to last document I need for my Father in Law's estate to wrap things up... long story short I chased this document down last week and they said they'd send it out that day, and so I finally get this motherfucker and the accountant says Canada Revenue Agency fucked it up! That's fantastic. I also got home to my house covered in a fine layer of paint dust because the building is painting the hallways and it seeped in the door I guess when they were prepping. Neat :thumbsup:

No, I think it's specific to that warehouse. It's new, they have some issue that prevents indoor loading, so they don't run night routes, the whole thing is odd. I just caught it lucky on the off side of their estimates.

It's really hard to estimate workforce versus demand. Like all these gig technology jobs, the game is completely different the following year. Yes there are more people. But also yes, AMZL has shifted more volume to internal last mile. And I am learning more as they are learning more. I see patterns. First house on a block, house across from a T intersection, last house in a cal-de-sac. Those patterns mean the algorithm is identifying stops that decrease the van route productivity and is better served by a shlep in a car. It's evolving is the point.

I also think AMZL is an incubator. I am not even sure product sales is the point. They make SO much more money on AWS, that they use AMZL to create new value propositions. My wife lost her shit today at the NFL shop, because the estimated delivery dates and the "order has shipped" emails are based on label printing, not fulfillment. It's been a huge problem. Amazon solved that one with same day fulfillment and the only other example I can think of is Chewy. The largest cost with online shops has always been "last mile" delivery. It's the most expensive piece. So AMZL is modeling to solve that with direct delivery data. Sure, they first win by solving it for themselves, but the potential to solve it for all online retail is a far bigger business proposition.

Here's what I've been doing this week, I'm down in the mountains of SC this month. We had that storm roll through last weekend, took out power for 28 hours. We thought we were in good shape Monday morning when the power came back at 930am but there was too much snow on the driveway to hike all the way down. Tuesday we walked down to check everything and get the mail. (Had to walk it first because it's narrow and steep with no room to turn around, backing back up would be difficult). I hear you. My father-in-law's estate (he was in Burnaby) hasn't wrapped up yet and all the doc's are in -- and the CRA fouled up on something for us as well -- the whole estate is in limbo until at least January. By the looks of it it will be about 18 months before we are done as well.

He had everything neat and sewn up - no contesting of anything, powers of attorney were there, and very little assets other than actual cash as he was put in a home about 3 months before he died.

Here's what I've been doing this week, I'm down in the mountains of SC this month. We had that storm roll through last weekend, took out power for 28 hours. We thought we were in good shape Monday morning when the power came back at 930am but there was too much snow on the driveway to hike all the way down. Tuesday we walked down to check everything and get the mail. (Had to walk it first because it's narrow and steep with no room to turn around, backing back up would be difficult). Yep. I'm just glad I was here when it happened. My Aunt would probably still be trapped. Took me a whole day with the chainsaw and a whole second day removing the dirt and root ball and filling the hole. The pics don't really show the size of the hole in the driveway and the amount of embankment that came down on the other side. The hole was about 4'x8' by 3-4 foot deep, the embankment was 4'x10' and 4'tall. I threw 20 cinder blocks in the hole and shoveled 3 or 4 yards of dirt moved with 5 gallon buckets.

The neighbor was supposed to come talk to me about the tree leaning across the drive and hung up in another tree. It's a pretty dangerous cut and I wanted another opinion. What I did NOT want to do is cut the supporting tree or pull it loose to get it on the ground without first cutting the base. It's on an embankment 4' above the drive and I didn't want the whole root ball and embankment laying in the driveway..... Well the neighbor came by, didn't call and just pulled it down with his truck, root ball and all. Now I have a whole other mess to clean up as there is 1000lbs of wet muddy dirt filling the ditch and the embankment is now unstable.

His heart was in the right place trying to help, but damn, now I have more work that if I'd just done it myself. :banghead:
