A long time ago Marlon Brando made an unpopular statement about how all of Hollywood was run by a group of old Jewish men and no one could get in.

He was soundly thrashed for his opinion. Brando also made the statement at a time when he was getting 10 million for three lines of dialogue in a movie, so I tend to believe the truth behind it because he just didn't give a fuck about the fallout.

I don't like the new brand of political correctness in Hollywood, but there is a strong history of males running the show so to speak in all aspects of film making.

So the semi driver of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash plead guilty to all counts yesterday. (16 dead, 13 injured)

He ran a highway stop sign with flashing lights around 5pm on a clear day, all points of the intersection were visible.

His employer is being charged for bypassing safety standards and that reminded me of something I was told years ago by a truck driver.

Caucasian guy worked for one of our long haul carriers. He overheard his East Indian boss instructing other East Indian drivers who were new, how to avoid regulations and cut corners. It was an aggressive threatening mob that surrounded him after he tried to help someone. He was shoved from behind, then shoved from the front. He response to the front shove was to push her back. She came back at him attempting to throw a punch and got leveled.

I guess since they were already in the market with other shaving products (creams, gels, aftershave, etc) they wanted to try and get into the lucrative blade market and the quickest and easiest way was to acquire DSC.

I really enjoy your posts and you're a great contributor here.

I don't know if this is helpful but when I receive an unexpected lashing I'll look at how I came across. Even if I decide that my comment was reasonable I'll still think if I could have made my point just as well in a less personal or aggrevating way, factoring in the recipients angle, etc.

It doesn't always work, but it's a lot easier than trying to change other people, that's for sure.

What I've just said above relates to censorship. I don't need to quote threads or instances, the evidence is there.

Trump is a ham-fisted Twitter user and makes questionable comments at times. And I'm being polite. He's a dream political target for anyone writing the news, and that's not our fault for laughing at or disliking his statements.

No one is insulting Americans directly and certainly not taking personal shots at a member here when they post a pic or stat about Trump. Yet there seems to be so much offense when that happens. You like how he's handling the nation, great! But insulting and/or threatening people when they disagree? That's draconian.

Y'all are smart, funny and for the most part considerate people. Every single member here. I love coming to our little home on the internet. The Monk is an easy-going guy and posts a lot of varied content here. I think it's important to remember his other contributions as well as any perceived slights. And most importantly we should remember that a voting choice should never translate to a personal attack against another member here. We're better than that.

I respect your opinion. Here's the deal, he's been warned more than once to tone it down. He was/is obsessed with hating Trump and on almost any other forum on the world wide interwebz he would be considered a troll and banned. But, we let it continue. And yes, there were times when actual discussions happened in that thread. :shock: But, there were also multiple times where he backhandedly insulted every American on this board that voted for Trump by insulting (and not veiled insults) everyone that voted for or supports the President.

Now, do I agree with everything he does? Of course not, no matter who had been President, I've never either completely liked nor completely disliked the man in office. If people remember, I'm the entire reason Anthem and Richard Cranium left this board because I told them to tone down their floods of anti Obama stuff. So I try and be more than fair on both sides of the coin.

But now that thread is causing nothing but hate and I am tired of dealing with it/seeing it. If the closure of one single thread on this vast board is all he cares about and it makes him 'pick up his toys and go home' then that;s his decision. Again, him leaving because that thread got closed is just further proof that he is obsessed. I have absolutely no problem with civil discourse, and I openly embrace actual discussions about what there is to like or dislike about the president, my country, or my ginormous penis. So please don't feel as though you can't criticize, because that's not what my closure of that thread was about.

And here, I'll say it, most of what Trump puts on Twitter is trolling bait. He needs to have his smartphone taken away. I was on my way to the store and I see an older lady walking her small dog on our drive. It's about -20C with ice crystals in the air, what we Canadians would call 'a bit chilly'.

Here's the difference.

Conspiracy to commit murder is a legit crime. So while I don't like stings, hard to argue that one, although they would still have to prove intent and preparation, otherwise it's a fantasy thought crime. If they guy say has the murder weapon, and the tools to dismember, and a place to commit the crime arranged, that's legit. If not, then it's a tough call.

In the case of sexual solicitation of a minor, it's only a crime if you solicit a minor. The same solicitation for an adult isn't a crime. My objection to those entrapments stems from the fact that no minor was solicited. States have changed laws for the purpose of increasing the conviction rate by adding "a minor or someone the person reasonably believed to be a minor" - that's bullshit.
