Earth is a like large sheep farm and it is time to harvest the flock.
Unlike in War Of the Worlds where the aliens swept through the planet plucking up humans by the shipload causing mass destruction, they stroll through while the livestock are lethargic selectively picking their prey a few here and a few there so as not to create panic through carnage.
The easiest way to do this is isolate them into as small a groups as possible. Keep them penned up so they will fatten.
We even willingly walked into our pens while the latches were bolted. Stayed content while the flock is leisurely thinned.

Back at the old house, I was up at about 3 am one night taking a piss, and afterwards, while I was washing my hands in front of the vanity mirror, I saw something slithering behind me on my bedroom rug. I turned and saw a green snake just crawling around on the floor. He had to have been about two to two and a half feet long. Not very big at all. I beat him over his head a few times with a fly swatter, then, when he stopped moving, I grabbed him and threw him outside into the grass off of my back porch. When I went looking for him in the backyard in the morning, he wasn't there. Either he was playing possum when I was putting him outside, or something came along and grabbed him before the morning came. Or maybe both.

I heard on a podcast the other day something that really made me think. Will this whole lock down be worth it? The politicians in favor of strict lock downs like de Blasio and Cuomo in New York always say '...but if it saves just one life it's worth it.' But in reality, this will never stop the spread of the disease, it's the new reality in the world. Did this REALLY save any lives or did it just postpone the inevitable?

I dunno. I only work half the year, 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, so cutting my hours to 8/day is over a 50% reduction in pay. I make my living on overtime.

I use to have a schedule like that. Work 8 days and off 6, got my 80 hours in on the 8 days. By the time vacation and holidays were subtracted I only actually worked about 150 days a year.
I didn't get overtime though it was salaried.

I've used Door Dash a few times now and so far I've gotten really good service. Thought I would never use a delivery service like this, but it does come in handy. I do wish it wasn't QUITE so expensive to use. Luckily, I'm in the 30 days of free delivery phase of my account, so I have saved money there, but there is still a small service charge (between $1.50 and $2.00 usually) and they mark up the prices over the menu cost. If you look at the menu on the Door Dash app and then look at the menu on the restaurant website/app, you can see that it's a little more expensive through Door Dash, and I'm sure Door Dash is taking that money as well and not splitting it with the restaurant.

Now the convenience is nice, I can order lunch if I want right from my desk and have it delivered to the shop, and that convenience is definitely worth something (my time being off the clock at work, the gas used to drive over and pick it up, etc), but it still seems too expensive to use more than occasionally.

Luckily, I'm in the 30 days of free delivery phase of my account, so I have saved money there, but there is still a small service charge (between $1.50 and $2.00 usually) and they mark up the prices over the menu cost. If you look at the menu on the Door Dash app and then look at the menu on the restaurant website/app, you can see that it's a little more expensive through Door Dash, and I'm sure Door Dash is taking that money as well and not splitting it with the restaurant.

Now the convenience is nice, I can order lunch if I want right from my desk and have it delivered to the shop, and that convenience is definitely worth something (my time being off the clock at work, the gas used to drive over and pick it up, etc), but it still seems too expensive to use more than occasionally.

Well, Cuomo shut down NY's school system for the rest of the school year. My nephew's getting screwed. Graduation will be held but for immediate family only, so I guess I'm mailing him a check. I didn't get to the older nephew's graduation either but that had to do with weather related flight delays. I was supposed to fly up there the day before but because of storms, the flight was postponed until the next day. Then the next flight was originally scheduled for early morning, but storms rolled in and delayed the flight again by 5 hours. By the time I got up there, got the rental car, and the hotel room situated, the graduation ceremony was over. I made it to dinner, though. I'm not gonna even bother this time around. I'll just mail the kid a card and a check and call it a day.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (who my mother used to work for) has taken over the case. The first DA, Barnhill, has recused himself after a public outcry and another DA, Durden, has taken it over.

You can read tons of pages on the web that are crying for justice, blood, claiming white privilege, yada, yada, yada... but this is what I think:

- Arbery had a criminal record, but it was years ago and irrelevant to this incident. There's no way Greg McMichael could have known about it.
- As far as I can tell, McMichael didn't directly witness Arbery committing a crime, so had no cause to follow to initiate a citizen's arrest. Even if he did, the physical altercation, if initiated by the son Travis, was illegal.
- The open carry of shotguns is legal in GA, in fact, required. It is illegal to conceal carry long guns in the state of GA. Arbery was unarmed.
- The shots from Travis's shotgun could have been an accidental discharge during the physical altercation, but then again, they could have been intentional. The shots from Greg McMichael's shotgun was intentional.
- I believe the two McMichaels ended Arbery's life without just cause, I think the video is beyond damning, and I think the current investigation will result in the two McMichaels being charged with murder, manslaughter, various crimes involving illegal detention.
- I think that if they're not charged, Southeast GA will ignite, and I might have to kill someone to defend myself and my home.
- I think that Lebron James and other talking heads should shut the fuck up, because they're not helping diffuse the situation. I think people should chill, let the GBI and DA do their jobs, and let the process do its thing.

Feel free to share this to help show how the law was designed to work in cases of shooting unarmed people.

A black man (Arbery) was shot in broad daylight while jogging in his own neighborhood. The 911 calls have the operator asking the shooter what Arbery was doing that was of criminal concern. They didn't give any answer for that, they said, 'He's a black man running down our road.” The DA later determined that the men were conducting an armed citizens arrest of a black man who fit the description of a man that committed robberies at some unspecified time and place in the past.

No charges filed.

The murder of Ahmaud Arbery raises questions of self defense and mutual combat in Georgia and whether the DA properly exercised discretion in not charging the men making a “citizens arrest.” Fortunately, the Supreme Court of Georgia has already resolved this for us and the men should be charged with murder. Here’s why:

To lawfully use deadly force, an individual must reasonably believe “that such force is necessary to prevent death or great bodily injury to himself or herself or a third person or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.” O.C.G.A. § 16-3-21(a). If a party knowingly uses deadly force on an unarmed individual, they are not entitled to a justification defense:

“Yet, the record shows that Milton moved toward Brunson only because Brunson had threatened Milton with a revolver. Both eyewitnesses testified that Milton grabbed the arm of the hand holding the gun and pointed it away from anyone. I only watched the video once but that was pretty much my take. The tried to stop him by yelling and threatening with the shotgun (I swore I heard him cock the gun), he attacked out of self defense and they fired.

Bottom line is you can't go chasing someone down the street and instigate a confrontation, it could and did go bad. Even if it was the guy that committed burglary you shouldn't go chasing them down, armed, looking for a confrontation. You should at most follow them at a distance until cops arrive.

They were the aggressors, self defense won't fly. They didn't witness a crime immediately before the incident, citizens arrest won't fly.

That's not rocket science, Greg McMichael retired from the GCPD last year. He has friends in high places. You can call it the "Good Ol' Boy" system if you want, but what it boils down to is it's the same all over: Police take care of their own. Burnhill laid it out in his letter.

What's killing me is they totally could have gotten away with it if they stopped dropping huge pieces of breadcrumbs all over the place: the guy that took the video was a friend of Travis McMichael. He was with them. If the video doesn't exist, they could've doctored their story every which way and how. Burnhill was all set to let it go because one of his family members worked with McMichael in the GCPD before McMichael retired. He wasn't gonna recuse himself until the public outcry, he said so AND THEN stated the reason he was letting the crime go as the reason why he was recusing himself. These people are utter morons.
