They didn't even recommend the multifocals...

My doctors never mentioned them either, I had to bring up the option. Apparently there is no middle. Patients either love them or hate them afterwards with the haters blaming the doctor, so most won't even mention multifocals. There is also the fact that insurance only covers part of the surgery but none of the lens, unlike the basic lens which is covered according to your policy.

Yeah it hurts a lot. I have no idea when it will clear. The doctor made it sound like you can go about your business same day. The nurse said it could be 5-7 days. I got the impression the surgeon had a hard time with it for some reason. He kept muttering something about a long iris. :dunno:

Wow! Totally opposite of my experience. All that was done to me was eye drops that numbed it for surgery, no pain whatsoever. No sedation of any kind nor an IV. My sight was back to days of my youth immediately. As I mentioned before colors were super vibrant.

I know eye shape does have a lot to do with the outcome, some people just have to live with the cataracts. My surgeon took several different measurements before saying I was candidate for multi-focals.

My wife insisted on sitting through the consultation because she knows I tend to remain silent about most everything.
After telling us what was entailed my wife asked the doc how far apart they were, meaning the surgery's.
Without given the doc a chance I held up hand with my finger and thumb apart and said " About 2 and a half inches."

You could have heard a pen drop as everyone starred at me. Then the doc busted out laughing but my wife's stare nearly did me in.

Not bad, thanks. Still tired. The eye is still bothering me, but it seems better. Pain is less, focus has improved, fogginess reduced, but still a ways to go.

My follow up is in 3 hours. I'm the only one who thinks it's okay to drive there. :lol: I can't quite figure out how to manage the glasses until the next surgery is done. Hopefully they will have ideas.

Kind of an 80's action hero satirical vibe. He was beloved by younger fans, and a constant source of memes for the internet in general (in other words, he's a weenie, but entertaining to many whether you laugh at him or with him). Personally I saw some of his stuff and thought it was just brutal but he did have fans.

For context on the scale of this drama, this guy had about 15,000 paid subscribers paying him $10-25 monthly, roughly 4.4 million Twitch followers, and racked up over 180,000,000 views of his channel since he began streaming. He made millions of dollars streaming and had recently signed a multi-year deal with Amazon's streaming platform Twitch.

Today he was suddenly banned with no warning or explanation. Twitch streamers get short-term bans for copyright issues and slip-ups like showing or saying inappropriate content all the time, but this has been confirmed to be a permanent ban for something else.


According to numerous reports, popular gaming streamer Guy "Dr Disrespect" Beahm has been banned from Twitch. I'm ready to go back to commuting if it means I get a yard. Made up a brine yesterday and put some pork chops in it and they're sitting in the fridge right now. Got a recipe for a dry rub I want to try and will throw the chop on the grill tonite. Already can't wait. :yumyum:Pork chops grilled up nice, nice and juicy. You can't really beat brining pork, it makes it near impossible to dry out and overcook it. You'd really have to be trying to ruin it :lol: The dry rub was a bit strong for the wife, so maybe dial that back next time, but I liked it. Pretty happy with the way it turned out.

And if anyone is curious, the dry rub was :

3 tbs of paprika
1 tsp of garlic powder
1 tsp of onion powder
1 tsp of coarse ground black pepper
1 tsp of ground mustard
1 tsp of ground cumin
1/2 tsp of ground chipotle pepper

Well, apparently. I had requested and received more sedative, which helped. Per doc's instructions, I brought it up to the nurses and he had noted it in the file. They gave me double the first surgery in preop, a booster while waiting, and then in the surgical room, I heard this:

Doc: "Do you have an extra IV shot?"
Nurse: "We gave him 2m and a 1 mg booster, we have another 1mg shot ready"
Doc: "Nope. Get 2"

Right on, brother. :lol: Much more bearable procedure; I was a little more out of it after.

Doc said this morning that everything looked great. The new lens is getting less cloudy by the hour. I got distance lenses so I lost my near sight. Playing with readers to decide what works.

Overall, great results.

I mwas just listening to the Ben Shapiro podcast and he played part of a press release by the CEO of some hospital(s) in Texas. The MSM is reporting that hospitals in Texas are nearing capacity and we're getting close to a crisis again. The CEO said that right now, ICU usage in their hospitals is at about 91%. Then he said guess what they were at this time last year? They were at 92% capacity. He said that most hospitals run their ICU's this way and that they probably average somewhere in the mid 80% range for capacity. He said there is no danger of the hospitals being overrun or over crowded.

And a small fortune in fireworks from the way it sounded. All because evolution skipped a bunch of morons that get off on things that go boom.

Fuck each and every one of them. None of us got any sleep and 2 of our dogs are absolutely terrified by fireworks. If I could get away with walking up to these morons and shooting them in the face, I would do it in a heartbeat. Sadly though, it's illegal to shoot people, even ones that deserve it.
