We had the OS updated and then we found out that the forum software is incompatible with the new version of PHP in the new OS. So we bought the newest version of the forum software. Tried to upgrade to that but we unknowingly skipped a step. After a lot of help from the host that the forum is located on, we were able to get the right combination to get the forum back online. So, we have the updated OS, but outdated PHP and forum software at the moment, but we're online which is the most important thing.

We do still plan on updating to the newest forum software version now though since we forked out the $200 for it. But the time to do that is still TBD.

Doubtful, but even if we could, it's more than likely in our best interest to update to the newest version of everything. The current VB version we're on (4.x) doesn't receive much in the way of support anymore, just like the OS we had been running. As it is, to keep this version going that we're on now, we have to run an outdated and no longer supported version of PHP, which could be a security risk at some point.

Fucking Monday night and assholes out in the neighborhood lighting off illegal fireworks. I took the test when I was 16 :lol: I did take a look at recent past papers https://revisionworld.com/a2-level-level-revision/english-language-gcse-level/english-language-gcse-past-papers/aqa-gcse-english-language-past-papers and without trying to sound like a defeatist here, there's no way I think I could pass it. My brain only yworks in facts, numbers and working shit out. I can read, write, spell and have a decent enough vocabulary, but ask me to make up and write a story in 45 mins, or ask me to iinterpret what a wrter means in a paragraph... that shit aint happening :lol:

and technically, both languaagess are my first language, I prefer speaking welsh, but not everyone can speak it 'round these here parts btw, just fyi, I didn't do much better in my welsh gcse :lol:

Too late, it's buried. Something will come along in the night, dig it up, and drag it off into the woods and make a meal of it. It bent the cage. I guess if I had seen it in the morning, then I would have let it loose somewhere else away from the neighborhood, but I'm guessing it baked in the metal cage during the brutal heat of the afternoon.

New dishwasher arrived on Saturday morning. Even though installation of one is fairly straightforward, of course it couldn't be completely smooth. Had to crawl in the space where the dishwasher fits with a drill and hole saw because the new drain hose was larger than the hole that was already in the cabinet wall (of course it was). So contorting myself behind there and getting into a position where I could actually drill the hole, I wrenched my back somehow. :lol: It's not horrible, but my lower back hurts enough where it's uncomfortable.

But on the plus side, we have clean dishes again. :)

Unfortunately, with the mass influx of people moving to Colorado in general, and the Denver metro specifically, it's near impossible to go into the high country anymore. The traffic heading west is absolutely ridiculous and unless you want to go into the remote areas of the backcountry (and I'm talking finding a little used 4WD trail, driving to the end of it and then hiking several more miles), you can't get away from people, even in the mountains. :|

Okay, something a little strange happened at the house on Sunday. Seems that right now, for some reason, the solar panel thing is big right now and they have been going door to door in our neighborhood for months. Multiple companies, sometimes coming to your place twice. We looked into it, it's basically a racket and not worth doing, especially with these companies coming door to door.

We have both a No Soliciting sign on the door as well as one of the more humorous no solicitors signs hanging on the front door. It says (paraphrasing) that if you ring the doorbell, you agree to pay us $20/minute to listen to your message. As you can see from the video above, it appears he read the sign and then left. So we figured he got the hint. One of our other cameras filmed him going up the street and out of frame. But instead, a couple of minutes later, he comes back!

As you can see, he rang the bell and stood there for awhile. Our dogs were barking and we didn't answer the door. He gets something out and starts to write down something. I figured it was a business card or something. So when he was gone, I went out and looked and I thought he tucked it in the door or something and I couldn't find it. It was windy that day so I figured it blew away. The wife went out later to water the plants and she found what he left. It was perched on our doorbell.

Yeah, if it's anything similar to my plan (I have United Healthcare), copays don't count towards your OOP expenses. I think that's the only cost that's excluded and everything else you pay goes towards what your max OOP is.

Today I was practicing Blue Jean Blues (rythm) I tried my stratocaster, tele, Les Paul and my Solar using my latest Blackstar Artis 15 combo amp. LP sounded best, then Solar, then Tele. Any of those 3 would work, but I couldn't get a good sound out of the strat today.

Came out awesome...the NY Strips were a little over an inch thick and the ribeye was closer to 1-1/2 thick, so it worked out perfectly. About 9 minutes in the super hot grill (5 minutes first side, flip, about 4 minutes on the second side) and rest for 5 minutes and they were just about perfect. The strips were medium rare and the ribeye was just barely past rare. And they were only seasoned with kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper. Served with baked potatoes on our steak eating plates. :yumyum:

It depends on what you think "being rich" means. Personally, my belief is this: you're rich when you're so wealthy that market fluctuations couldn't affect your wealth. Nothing would make you sweat. From what I understand, from what I've been lead to believe, that's generally true when you have $100 million (USD) or more. I'm not saying you couldn't live comfortably and in style with less, but if you've got say $20 million, then an economic downturn could wipe that out.

Probably going to have to put our cat Garfield down today if we can get him into the vet. Going to be hard, I've had him almost as long as I've lived in Colorado. He was a shelter cat and best guess is he's between 21 and 22 years old. He's ha d a very long and happy life, but he's rapidly starting to go downhill. He's lethargic, barely eating, and having multiple accidents (not making it to the litter box). Don't want the poor guy to suffer and I think it's the right time. Going to be hard on the kid, even though she hasn't been with him nearly as long as I have, she really loves him and it will be rough, especially considering that we had to put Nermal down just around a year ago. :(

Smoke from the wildfires is BAD today. Can't have the doors open or the swamp coolers on at the shop. If you are outside it's like you are standing right in the middle of the fire the smoke smell is so thick. And the filters on the swamp coolers do nothing to stop from filling the shop with smoke. I'll be mostlly looking at things that are miles away like ships making their way to the dock, planes, looking at the stars, spying on people on the nudist beach... you know, normal people things. Okay, maybe that last bit was a fib, but they won't be used for any sort of wildlife watching unless I happen to spot something interesting while looking through them. Budget can be anything up to a grand if they are really worth it, but ideally 2-300 quid and I don't mind second hand stuff

I'll be mostlly looking at things that are miles away like ships making their way to the dock, planes, looking at the stars, spying on people on the nudist beach... you know, normal people things. Okay, maybe that last bit was a fib, but they won't be used for any sort of wildlife watching unless I happen to spot something interesting while looking through them. Budget can be anything up to a grand if they are really worth it, but ideally 2-300 quid and I don't mind second hand stuff

generally its going to be all about the extras you want, i.e. whether you want antifog, stuff like that.

smaller magnification is usually a little better if you're going for moving objects, >10x may get shaky when looking at far away stuff.

Wow, delivery drivers are idiots. Can't read a shipping label and a street sign. They've delivered the last 3 packages that I was expecting to a house around the corner. Nice people at the house, but still, the delivery drivers (UPS and Amazon Logistics) are morons.

I could sympathize if that were true. I bought my AR back in 2016, 3 weeks before the general election. Now, I don't think so. Or at least the election's not the only thing. I think it's a knee-jerk reaction to the riots, the Covid, the shortages of consumables. Hell, even Democrats are buying guns. What's going on right now has the potential to get much much worse. Preppers all over are saying, "We told you so". We're looking at a potential SHTF situation, although I don't think it'll come to that. But I don't blame people.

If they do ever have to use them will have no idea what to do with them. They should just as well have a club.

I would be willing to bet that most of them went as far away as legally possible to purchase their guns so that their friends and neighbors don't know. So they sure as hell won't be seen at their local shooting range practicing.
