Yea, road was wet so I couldn't swerve as aggressively as I needed to. Fucker paused right as I got to him and I clipped him in the ass. Big SOB too! Took out the corner of my bumper, the wheel shield and probably the air intake box. Still drivable so I consider myself lucky.
Damn, no kidding...hitting an animal that size at that speed could have been disastrous. Time to by a lottery ticket today lol.

:lol: I already said that trump will win in a landslide on election day and then the dems are going to try and stretch it out and fake enough mail in ballots to win, the only question is which actual states allow counting past election day and how many electoral votes do they have. if it comes about that trump has enough electoral votes on election day, then there will be a push for faithless electors to go against the wishes of their exoteric constituents. certain democrats heads roll if and when they lose, so this is all out win at all cotsts or their entire edifice is lost.

It only hurts if I kneel with full weight on right knee. Sharp burning pain on outside of knee. Doesn't hurt at any other times, but sometimes there's enough of a "feel" that it reminds me somethings wrong. Doc did a basic exam, x-rays, etc. Seems I have early onset of arthritis, and a tear in my meniscus. Got a steroid shot, proscribed 2 aleves day for 3 weeks. See if symptoms reduce. If not will schedule MRI, and discuss options.
For knees, one of my most often prescribed exercises involves putting the knee at 90 degrees and then doing medial & lateral rotations of the ankle/foot - with the knees at 90 it allows for the most movement of the tibia & fibula in there. Try those gently a couple times a day. Regular and gentle movement is a must to manage arthritis, earlier one begins, the better. Easy bikeriding is good for knees also.
I dont know why they shoot ya with something and say to take some other drugs and we'll see, nevermind about sending you to PT. Let's manage your pain instead of attacking the root cause of them symptoms :facepalm:

Used the new lawn sweeper on got about half the yard raked yesterday. Today burned the keaf piles and trash pile. Weeded some flower beds. Drank some rolling rock and played guitar. Ate dinner, now overstuffed and watching some college ball.

I have a perfectly situated yard where it works out that leaves dont really settle in my yard, they blow into everyone else's yards :dance: I just wind up collecting garbage in the hedges on the east on the other side of the driveway, I dont really gaf if leaves go under there. my red maple in the front still hasnt dropped its leaves....but my xmas cactus is already in full bloom for a couple weeks already, its developed this multi bloom pattern for some reason (xmas cactus is one of those plants that emits a higher concentration of oxygen at night time, so I have it in my bedroom for extra sleep o2)

Took a last minute trip up the Sea to Sky highway and did an overnight camping trip with the wife and pup on Saturday near Whistler. My big tote bin is all set to go with camping gear at a moment's notice so it wasn't much work to get ready which was nice. In the past all my camping stuff was spread all over, so getting one big bin of everything organized makes it totally doable to go for just a night. The moon was unreal and pup was not concerned with the kids a few sites down lighting off Halloween fireworks so it was a great little trip, made the weekend feel longer. The only bad part was that we were pretty cold overnight, got down to freezing temp. We need better sleeping bags.
Also have to figure out a way to keep puppy warm if anyone has ideas... Can't really wrap him in a blanket yet, he just chews it and fucks around with it :lol:

Not sure about the pup, maybe keep him in between the two of you, if you can get him to stay. However, if you've ever tried one of those thick Sherpa blankets off of Amazon, they're crazy warm and you can get them in huge sizes, big enough to be shared between 2 people. I have one, and it's so ridiculously warm. It doesn't get cold enough down where I'm at, so even in the colder months, it makes me sweat. They might make sleeping bags that have that sort of lining as well. Maybe even invest in a 2 person sleeping bag?

I'm friends with redred on facebook, his last message to me there was that he "needed a break from the Americans" :|

I click on new posts and half of it is to do with the election (if not directly then indirectly) and it even overflows into other threads with the odd comment here and there.

I got taught at a relatively young age you cant take what people say to heart too much, especially if its some trivial subject.
Election time is a traditionally heavy time for this stuff, and with the world all up in a tizzy over it all, its doubly bad. With the international fuckery angle to this, it winds up involving the world since there were circular spying agreements between some countries. I'd rather move on from this stuff too, but its gotta play itself out first.

That is exactly what happened to my buddy. He was very private about his medical issues and stubborn as hell. Sucks because it leaves me with aching guilt that I should've noticed he wasn't responding to our group chat sooner :(

I will try and answer your question as it pertains to me, I cannot speak for anyone else. And this will be my only post on it in this thread because I do agree with you that US election talk has creeped into far too many threads considering there are already plenty of threads dealing with it.
Why do I support President Trump and not want a President Biden? First, let me say that I do not like the person Donald Trump is. I think he runs his mouth a bit too much, he needs to lay off the Twitter machine way more than he does, and I think he could be slightly more diplomatic with things sometimes. But the good thing is, you don't need to personally like the person who is running your country. I know that sounds odd, but a person can dislike the person Donald Trump on a personal level, but support him because of the job he is doing/has done for the country since he's been elected. The biggest thing that you have to realize is, you and everyone else in the world always will see the WORST spin put on anything Trump does or says. Even in this country, the mainstream media outlets are completely toxic and blatantly support the American left. Some of these news outlets don't even try to hide that fact, while others do swearing up and down that they are fair, which they most certainly are not. So unless someone were to actually look for it, you will never find a positive news story about President Trump, especially outside the US. So I can completely understand why you or any other non-American would find it odd for people to support President Trump. But again, I don't like Donald Trump the person, I like Donald Trump the President.
President Trump was elected because we needed a change in this country. He didn't try and hide the fact that he was going to put America first, which was music to a lot of people's ears after toiling through 8 years of Obama/Biden in the White House. Trump clamped down on illegal immigration. He cut taxes for working class people. He supports law enforcement. People had jobs, wages were going up, especially on the lower end, and the country was humming along. Even just recently after 9 months of the pandemic, 56% of Americans polled still said they were better off now than they were 4 years ago. But of course, just like what happened around the world, Covid wrecked the US economy. These are the kinds of things I want in someone that is leading my country.
If we get a President Biden? He's already stated he will immediately repeal the Trump tax cuts, raising taxes on all Americans (although he recently revised that to claim he would only raise taxes on people making more than $400K/year which I think is BS myself). Biden changes his position on everything more often than people change their underwear. He wants to destroy the entire US energy market by completely eliminating all fossil fuels, including oil, coal, natural gas, and fracking/drilling anywhere. This all just after the United States has finally become energy independent and this would cost hundreds of thousands of American jobs as the energy sector is one of the biggest job markets in this country. And that would in turn cripple an economy that is already limping along trying to recover from Covid. He wants to implement more lock downs and a national mask mandate even though more and more healthcare experts are coming out and saying that lockdowns are actually worse than Covid is. And a national mask mandate? That would be an unconstitutional mandate, but he has already hinted that he doesn't care much for the rule of law in this country. He wants to add at least two new states so that the democrats can permanently swing the balance of power in the US senate. They want to abolish the filibuster, which is pretty much the only tool the minority party has in the senate to slow down/prevent the party in power from running roughshod over the entire populace. Because the democrats didn't get their way on the last Supreme Court judge, they want to "pack the court" with democrat judges so that they can make sure the court will side with whatever they want to do. He wants to gut the 2nd Amendment and outlaw and confiscate weapons from law abiding citizens. It's already proven that his family has corrupt dealings in China and Ukraine and if he's in power, there's nothing to indicate that won't continue or get worse. And while Trump hasn't exactly been fiscally conservative, Biden wants to make what Trump spent look like chump change, when we're a country that is already more than $27 trillion (!) in debt. He will cater to the politically correct crowd and the democrats have made no disguise of the fact that they want to enact 'hate speech' laws in this country, meaning that if you hurt someone's feelings, you could be in for criminal prosecution. All those SJW's out there will start to get their way. And Biden and the democrats fully support having the federal government involved in every aspect of the lives of Americans and want to turn the US into a welfare state. And even above and beyond all that, the cherry on top is, Biden is old and weak and fading. There is no way I think he will complete a full term as president, and that would mean that Kamala Harris would become president and as bad as Biden is, she would be 100 times worse.
The democrat party has been moving farther and farther to the left and that is not good for this country. They keep driving a wedge deeper and deeper into this country. And if you dare question what they want to do, then you are either a racist or a bigot or you have 'privilege' or any number of other made up things. And that's how they have tried to paint Trump and the media eats that up and spreads the lies. I'm sick of being told I'm a bad person and a racist all because I'm a white male.

I will try and answer your question as it pertains to me, I cannot speak for anyone else. And this will be my only post on it in this thread because I do agree with you that US election talk has creeped into far too many threads considering there are already plenty of threads dealing with it.
Why do I support President Trump and not want a President Biden? First, let me say that I do not like the person Donald Trump is. I think he runs his mouth a bit too much, he needs to lay off the Twitter machine way more than he does, and I think he could be slightly more diplomatic with things sometimes. But the good thing is, you don't need to personally like the person who is running your country. I know that sounds odd, but a person can dislike the person Donald Trump on a personal level, but support him because of the job he is doing/has done for the country since he's been elected. The biggest thing that you have to realize is, you and everyone else in the world always will see the WORST spin put on anything Trump does or says. Even in this country, the mainstream media outlets are completely toxic and blatantly support the American left. Some of these news outlets don't even try to hide that fact, while others do swearing up and down that they are fair, which they most certainly are not. So unless someone were to actually look for it, you will never find a positive news story about President Trump, especially outside the US. So I can completely understand why you or any other non-American would find it odd for people to support President Trump. But again, I don't like Donald Trump the person, I like Donald Trump the President.

Thank you, now that i can understand. Thing is, the world's view on Trump is partially his own doing - his twitter account (as you mentioned yourself) is just......... well, it's not what i personally would want to be reading from the leader of my country.
Judging by how close the voting was/is i'd guess that if he'd toned down on some of the stupid things he posts and says he'd probably have won a second term (based on all the good he's done for the US).

It is not required for the former service member to have seen action. It is only required that the service member was not dishonorably discharged.

It's Remembrance Day here. We observe a moment of silence at 11am and wear red poppies on our coats.
I always think of my grandfather who served in the First Special Service Force in WWII, which was a specialized unit of both American and Canadian volunteers who were one of the precursor units to modern special forces, commanded originally by Robert T Frederick. My grandfather was an incredible man and their unit did some wild things, eventually earning their unit the United States Congressional Gold Medal (sadly after my grandfather died).
The German's in Italy called them the 'black devils' as they painted their faces and murdered Nazis in hand to hand combat at night with their fabled V-42 combat stiletto.
My grandfather volunteered for the unit when it was formed around 1942 and they recruited Rangers, lumberjacks, northwoodsmen, hunters, prospectors, explorers and game wardens. They trained in Helena, Montana in crafts like skiing and parachuting with the unit. I believe they originally had about 1200 Americans and 600 Canadians, and sustained heavy casualties, landing in Anzio and fighting up through Italy and later in France, They fought the battle for Monte la Difensa on the Berhardt line by scaling the cliffs up the back which the Germans thought impossible. They took over 77% casualties during the battle but took the hilltop after other British and US units were locked in a stalemate trying to take it frontally. They were then were one of the first units in Rome, and later invaded France during Operation Dragoon. Their 1800 man unit is credited with over 12,000 German casualties, captured 7000 prisoners, and had a 600% attrition rate. They claim to be the only unit in WWII never to have retreated a foot of ground.
My grandfather was extremely lucky to have survived. My family still has his helmet with a bullet hole that entered through the front on the side and out the back, milometers from where his head was. He told me he badly wanted to take the V-42 knife when he left the unit too, many guys smuggled theirs home, but he was too honest and returned it when asked :lol:
When they were disbanded and sent back to units of their respective countries for the final months of the war, they all wept saying their goodbyes to their brothers. My grandfather had many friends across Canada and the US that he stayed in touch with until he died in 1998. I think among other things, their unit is an important piece of history for the US and Canada's close bond.
My grandfather dragged a feather bed across europe in ww2, enough times it saved his life. He never spoke much of the war except to say that it was the most terrible thing a person could possibly experience.
While my gram was laid up a little while before he passed, he told my mom a bunch of stories...some werent so bad, like when they took over a chateau that the germans had made into a command office, there was quite a wine cellar in the basement and they spent quite a few days there.
Quite the contrast to my best friend's gramp, who was in a refrigeration unit over in the south pacific, sometimes they'd take one of those 12 foot freon tanks, put in on an angle iron and take a wrench and knock the end off, watch that fucker go. The pilot he used to fly with was a hell of a pilot, he'd pull shit like rolling the wheels of the landing gear over the quonset hut whlie people were sleeping - but got drunk half the time and made gramp fly. He sold smokes and sent the money back and built their house with it.

He worked all friggin' day making it perfect.... sun goes down, firefight starts and he gets shrapnel in his back from a grenade. Tough SOB crawled by himself back to the nearest aid station and was in hospital for a couple weeks after that. Had shrapnel in his back the rest of his life... but what actually bothered him wasn't the injury, it was that his boys wrote him a letter telling him they enjoyed his bed and the chicken without him :lol:

I've read that an air fryer is a waste of money. If you buy a good convection oven (table top, like a toaster oven size) and it's basically the same thing, plus it will do so much more. Not to mention that air fryers are HUGE compared to the amount of food they can fit.

The dealer you want to use would have to contact the seller and submit their FFL info, then the seller would add them to the list. Simple process if your dealer is willing take the few minutes to do it.

Its the relay switch that changes the pattern for my Neumann u47 replica that I built. I was a jackass and didnt absolutely double check everything and didnt notice that the input jack at the bottom of the mic was different than in the directions they sent me, and I accidentally sent power down the pattern switching line and fried some components in there. I ordered replacement stuff a whiiiile ago but couldnt find the relay, this past weekend I decided to take another stab at it and desoldered most of what I've got to replace and then remember ah shit, that's where I left off with this....so I finally got around to digging and after about the 8th permutation of search text, I saw an image of the part come up in the images section and luckily as hell, it contained all the specs on the part. The shit that mic n mod sent me was so generically described, I really didnt know wtf I was looking for, at first :lol:
One other cap was missing and I'm a bit irked that I had to order 10 of them for 40 bucks just so I can have one, and I'll never ever ever use the other 9 :doh: And I had been planning on ordering some vintage tubes for it also, so I picked up a pair of Tung Sol 6028s for it. It'll be nice to make use of that $750 instead of it just sitting there, lol...a real one and you're pretty much spending at least 4 thousand bucks.
....and some people thought it was weird when Jake didnt have a problem with Elwood having traded the old blues mobile for a mic :lol:

Hitler originally commissioned the building of the Neumann U series :lol: It was a fun build! Very delicate and I had to put the low wattage tip on the soldering iron, mic has a big canister with a transformer, the pair of tubes, bunch of diodes, resistors, caps. The diaphragm is so insanely sensitive, you cannot touch or hold the microphone at all when its powered on.

I'm having a bad day with a little bit of luck on my side. I go to grab an egg to make an egg and cheese taco, and I forgot that I had an extra egg leftover from the last carton that I put on top of the current carton. It's been like a day or two since I've thought about it. So I grab the carton of eggs and the one on top rolls off and falls to the floor... only it doesn't hit the floor, it falls into the lowest shelf on the refrigerator door and cracks in there, containing all the egg in the shelf instead of going all over the place on the floor. I'm pissed that I made the mess, but I'm slightly amused that it fell in such a way to land in the shelf and contain the mess in there.
