5 weeks in to my every day exercising and I'm down 14 lbs as of my weigh in yesterday. So far I've only missed one day of exercising and that was only because I had a doctor appointment that particular afternoon. Also, my blood pressure is way down, so I'm really happy about the way everything is going now.

Probably should have started taking better care of myself 10 years ago :lol:

My five year loan was paid off in a year and a half) Had to replace the radio right off the bat (warranty job). Just replaced the battery. Needs new tires, currents are dry rotting. Haven't really been driving it a whole lot, and haven't changed the oil in a year and a half (thanks Covid). Other fluids may need to be replaced. The headlights are glazed over (thanks oxidation). I bought new ones, but I can't put them in, because the whole front end needs to be disassembled to get to them (thanks Honda). While a buddy was checking the headlight situation out for me, he told me I had a whole mess of rust that I need to mind (thanks coastal Georgia). Needs a paint job (again thanks coastal Georgia AND Honda). I replaced the brakes pads a while back, so I should be good on them and the rotors. If the tires are dry rotted, then any hoses may need to be replaced as well.

I'm kinda just relieved and happy for my mom more than anything, because she's been trapped in the elderly caregiver and none of the siblings help out thing for like 10 years, it was driving her crazy. my oldest uncle would help a little bit, but he's the least able :roll:

you probably dont want to do this with an aluminum one, but a re-season got my bro's wok back to perfect order - heat it up really hot on the burner, oil of your choice on a paper towel, circle w/ tongs - and a good fan above! no more shitty sticky spot. any cheapo one is good, yes - you just probably dont want to get one of those not-quite-wok ones made from cast iron :lol:

Thanks bud. I'm really happy with the progress so far. I just wish I had started earlier to take better care of myself. It took my wife and my doctor to get on my ass and finally I decided it was time to do something about it because I did let myself go too far. If I can lose another 15-ish then I will see how I feel. As the weight slowly drops off, I'm definitely feeling better. And I'm feeling that the average of 3 lbs/week weight loss is right about where it should be.

That's totally fair. Exercise really is the hardest habit to get into, and the easiest break. I always find that you just can't let yourself have more than 1 to 2 days off in a row or you'll start making more and more excuses to skip days. I think I'm on a pretty good trajectory at an average of 3 lbs/week right now, but that's with exercising 75 to 85 minutes every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and about 40 minutes/day Monday thru Thursday. I just want to be able to find a routine that is maintenance to help me hold the weight I get to, not keep going down. But I'm still probably 15 to 20 lbs away from where I wanna be yet.

Scary driving into work this morning. Thick and icy fog, could barely see 10 feet in front of me it was so thick.

We're fine. Longest outage was about 14hrs. I hooked my generup and ran it for a hour every 4hrs to run well, deep freeze and fridge. Cooked on my wood grill and propane burners. Kept a fire going in fireplace. Might buy a good propane indoor heater for next time. I'm set up to handle extended power outages due to hurricanes. Heating isn't usually a worry, haha. I know others are worse off, and I feel for them. Sad part is it didn't have to be like this. Its a failure of the power regulating body, not the grid so much. Iirc, around 35% of Texas grid is from renewable sources (windmills, solar) these obviously failed, and due to gas plants being shutdown, the remaining gas plants can't produce enough.

Seems we didn't escape the freeze damage after all. I went and turned power and water back on to the studio. Massive leak behind toilet. I had drained the pipes, and left valves open after I shut the water off to prep for the freeze. Guess I didnt drain them good enough. A 3/4 to 1/2" tee busted. It feeds the toilet and pipes (pvc) are on north wall. All in all, not a huge deal. I was planning to move the toilet a foot closer to shower wall. That's so I can move the bathroom/kitchen wall (non load bearing) a foot towards bathroom so I can install a small RV type propane oven/stove top in the kitchen. Looks like i get to do it sooner than I wanted. Not going to do any of the plumbing right now as all the stores are out of materials. I have stuff to move and redo the water line, but not the drain.

Ya up here there's just an automatic withholding on dividends and capital gains of 10-15% on US stocks, whether I bought them on the TSX with CAD or directly on the NASAQ/NYSE using USD.

Makes filing taxes easy, you just declare a line for US gains/losses to the CRA, but it's not super fun paying taxes to two countries when you really think about it :lol: That said, I still have a large portion of my portfolio in the US because there are so many more stocks to play with.

Pretty common sweetener really. I put it in salad dressing to sweeten it a touch all the time, it mixes in more easily and you don't actually taste maple at all. As long as you use the real stuff, I don't know if you'd even taste the difference between a tablespoon of syrup and a tablespoon of sugar in a big batch of pasta sauce?

I did however date a girl who did think it would work the same to substitute Aunt Jemima in salad dressing... it was very noticeable, and my mom (who asked her to bring the salad) was not impressed :lol:

There was one state rep here in Colorado (he's retired now) who every single year would introduce a bill to have Colorado opt out of the time change and just stay on one or the other (I don't remember which one). They would never even let the bill out of committee to allow the whole legislature to vote on it.

No. If I click on a window in the taskbar, it automatically opens a new window. My bookmarks toolbar disappeared on Firefox and I had to reset my homepage. I have yet to find all the other wonderful shit today has in store for me.
