Now he'll bolt if he sees a cute female dog, and just wants to hump. Not listening nearly as well out on walks and taking him to the dog park isn't fun because I'm just pulling this horny ball of fur off of other dogs the entire time.

Nah, I have a Quickie GPV. An older one. It's served me well over the years, but the casters mounted on the frame is proving to be a problem right now. I'm looking at some of the ultralight titanium ones or one of the newer carbon fiber ones. It helps that the frames are different and the casters are away from it. Also, most of them are around or less than 10 lbs and can hold more than 250 lbs advertised. I'm not that heavy, but I'm ruthless. They might be able to stand up to my daily abuse. And I have abused the living shit out of my wheelchair. That's why I kept replacing parts over the years. I kept breaking them.

We're all part owners of the strata so there's no real liability risk from someone getting sick and suing what is essentially themselves. I work in liability for strata/condo buildings and tried to tell them their concerns were not grounded in reality, but they didn't listen until we got a new property manager this month who talked sense into the board.

Anyways, that's in the past now. Went for a proper workout for the first time in a year today. My energy and mood is 100x better than it's been in a long time. Home workouts with youtube videos just weren't the same :lol:

I didnt wind up watching the whole thing, it got to be really long, but I guess it turns out that he met "a 27 year old" on a dating site and before they meet, "she" talked about being younger than she really was. My buddy thinks he got catfished and the dude's too dumb to have seen through the dating version of the nigerian email scam. Legally speaking it doesnt seem like he's got any real problems, but socially speaking, he's kinda got the entire east coast hardcore crew ready to beat him unmerciful. My great uncle passed today. He was in his 80's and suffering pretty rapidly declining dementia for a few years, so it was his time. Uncle W took a bad fall at home and died within a day so I'm grateful that it ended swiftly, especially for my great aunt (my grandma's sister) who was struggling to care for him the last several months.

Such a lovely, sweet man with a really interesting life. He was forced into the German Army near the end of WWII as a young teenager. His job was to sit on top of convoy trucks and spot Allied strafing runs to yell for the troops to dive for cover. He saw some of his childhood friends who weren't quick enough diving into the ditches killed by those strafing runs. That's all he ever really said about the war, but it's interesting to meet someone who saw the other side.

After the war, he and his mother (who was widowed by the war) moved to Canada as refugees. He became a renowned physician who opened one of the country's first Palliative Care Wards. He even continued to go in to work few days a month well into his 70's. He died this afternoon in that very same palliative care ward he opened, and where is own son now works as a doc, which I think is a fitting way to go.

I don't need sympathy, it was just his time, but I think it's a cool story to share.

My grandfather was also in service during WW2, Captain, German side. He was in charge of laying telegraph lines.
He was strafed by an allied fighter plane as well and tells the story of having survived by standing side long behind one of the telegraph poles, dodging bullets, until the attacker gave up.

He later emigrated to Australia, and the rest is history

There's a track around the big dog park I take my pooch to and there are always dozens of people playing, rain or shine :lol: Some of them look like they take is super serious, dressed up like golfers and obviously being competitive. Given how hard it is to get a tee time right now, might be a fun alternative to playing golf this summer.

If you dont have any gear, they have starter packs that contain a putter and a couple midranges. They typically dont start people off with drivers because you have to have the throw down before you start throwing faster discs - if you're not snapping enough and putting enough spin on the disc, its going to tail off no matter what, but once you're snapping it well then you get more flight options. There's definitely a person or two that take their dogs out, but only recommended if they are very well behaved :lol: That's funny some dress like its actual golf! Highly recommend watching some videos from the pros!

Weighed myself today and I'm officially down just over 25 lbs. The first 15 were pretty easy but the last 10 were a lot harder. Still would like to drop about 10 more and see how I feel.

It's been almost 3 months and there are definitely some days that I really don't feel like exercising, especially during the week after work, but I make myself go and do it. In the almost 3 months, I've only missed 3 days of exercising. One day was because of my kidney stone procedure, and the other two days were because I had afternoon appointments after work that caused me to get home just a bit too late to hit the routine.

People think you need to do all this radical stuff to lose weight when really, it's not all that difficult. Yes, I am making sure that I exercise every day, usually 30 to 35 minutes Monday thru Thursday and 60 to 75 minutes on Friday thru Sunday. But as far as food intake, I have been watching how much I eat, but for the most part, I haven't really changed WHAT I eat. People seem to think you have to eat nothing but plain white rice and kale salad or something, but so long as you are active, you can still pretty much eat what you want. Yes, I have cut back considerably on sweets and stuff, and like I said, I did cut back a bit on just how much I was eating, but other than that, there haven't really been any changes to my diet. Now sure, if I changed my diet significantly, I would probably lose more weight at a faster pace, but I'm pretty happy with my progress so far.

And overall, I just feel better. I've needed to make this change for a long time and I'm glad I actually did.

psyched for my brother, he finally got a job flying a helicopter. but its like half tour flying and half A&P mechanic (which was kinda ideally what he wanted, keep the skills broad and sharp.) they'll also want him to get his fixed wing license. sucks he's gonna be in northern fuggin Michigan for the next couple years, tho. at least he'll finally be able to import his girlfriend :lol:

Not quite. I'm less than 50% of the way through the ordeal. But I'm working on it. The past few weeks were spent in Rehab trying to learn to navigate the world with a busted leg.

well shit...this Hades disc I got in is a nice green and the lettering is all in cheetah print, and one of my good buddies is all about the cheetah print, so I'm gonna have to give this to him. in exchange for another decently colored Hades, of course, I know he's got one but I dont want a shit color :lol: I think his might be green, just used, I dont care about the miles, I just want one. really long glide # on it that you dont usually have too often.

Today has been 3 months since I started my exercise routine. As of today I'm down 28 lbs.

I was weighed for the first time in like 25 years when I was in the hospital. I was 205 lbs. Talk about shocked, I was like, "Awww, fuck no." I'm not supposed to weigh more than 140. Then I got pissed and went in and started directing my own physical therapy routine. I let the therapists choose the exercises, but I demanded they follow the schedule. I'm getting stronger. Now all I have to do is maintain. If I do, I'll probably start dropping weight in 6 weeks after I get the muscles back in reasonable shape again. But this broken leg is a pain in the ass and is gonna slow me down a bit. No matter. It has to be done.

yeah I made out like a bandit on that, he gave me a nice yellow one and a weird looking maroon colored first run (which is probably worth 50-60 bucks...I had 35 to the door for the cheetah print.) threw a couple great shots with it (one went 300 ft and if the ground were drier, might have skipped better and been on basket,) threw one that went so far away from where I wanted it to be, it was a hell of a walk all the way down that hill and back up.

was throwing everything too anhyzer (far side of disc angled upward a bit) yesterday, as a result I fed my X2 to The Beast (that's what they call the pond)....it would have been a great shot if it were elsewhere :lol:

this tree in the way has been slated to be taken down, which is going to change the hole...so the deciders have been discussing modifying 12...I think we should just move the basket back and into that hill a bit instead of moving the teebox....moving the teebox will be a harder shot...

Of course it's starting to slow down now (the weight loss) but I'm dedicated to losing it and hopefully keeping it off. I think I'd like to lose about 12 more pounds and see how I feel. I really never should have let myself get as heavy as I was. I had become a fat bastard :lol: You think you were bad at 205? I was up to 225 when I started this and my doc told me that I really need to lose weight. I knew I was overweight and I knew that I should do something about it, I just made excuses about why I couldn't do it. Talking with my doctor and the wife worried about my health really just pushed me to do something about it, like a switch being flipped.

Now, in three months of doing this, I've only missed exercising 3 times the whole time. I make sure to get at least 30 minutes/day in and more if I have the time. I'm down to 197 now and would like to make it down to 185 and see how I feel and check in with the doc again. I definitely feel better now and although there are some days where the exercise really feels like a chore, I still make myself do it.

I just know you will be able to do the same, I know you have that same kind of dedication to get something done when you put your mind to it. :thumbsup:
