Seems like it used to be that you'd search for something and see regular retail brands that you recognized whether it was for shirts or lightbulbs. Now it feels like the challenge is to find anything that isn't some bizarre Chinese knock-off brand with a fake American-sounding brand name and a description full of typos. I know that shit has been on there forever but I swear it's worse than ever now...

I was looking at lamps... at least 5-6 different ones all had different made-up name brands but the identical product photo. I made the mistake of clicking it, and now my social media is filled with adds for the identical product but from all sorts of different make-believe brands. :lol: What the hell is that all about. Just cheap manufacturers letting anyone drop-ship junky product under their own fake brand name I guess?

Played a round of glow disc golf last night, we went out at like 8-8:30. REALLY COOL!!! Had a blast, shot +12. We took turns running up the basket light, didnt work out too badly. I see really well in the dark, imo better off not shining it on the ground and keeping the night vision sharp. (All UV lights except for the basket...even those feel plenty bright, I only needed 'em to make my discs bright.) Also an interesting change playing with a limited set of discs, sometimes you just have to make something work. (Read an article the other day advocating for playing putter only rounds....you can play 'em a lot farther than you'd think, I found myself going for the putter at distances I never would have bothered dreaming of months ago...)


For the Explorer, now I've decided to rip my engine out and do the water pump & vale cover gaskets & shit while I'm at it. Rust supreme on some of those exhaust bolts, if I have to have the exhaust done later I'll cut the shit. Swayback was funny, he kept trying to convince me about disconnecting the engine, so eventually I said sure, that sounds like a great idea, but I'm just going to take the fucker right out instead of trying to maneuver things with a cunt hair's worth of room under there.

I found out about it on a 60-year old para woman's blog. The directions say to take 5 pellets 3 times daily, but I'm only taking 1 a day. I did a little research on it, and it's common comfrey, which is extremely dangerous. The FDA banned it from official medical use a long time ago. Supplements aren't regulated like that. Anyway, it's supposed to be good for bone healing and junk but comfrey causes cancer and destroys your liver and lungs, so I figure if they're telling me to take 5 pellets 3x daily, then 1 a day probably won't kill me. I think that stuff is in my jow. I increase absorption of it by using FDA banned dimethyl sulfoxide. :dance: (FDA banned it in like the 60s after some woman accidentally killed herself with it, used improperly with the wrong substances and...xxxx.....my concoction has jow herbs, 40-40-20 distilled water, DMSO, and grain alcohol to dissolve the CBD isolate...) I wouldnt doubt that even a small amount would be helpful - generally when I find stuff like that I'll begin out at a quarter dose just to ascertain effects and determine a lowest effective dose.

In my other diggings on an old forum I used to be on, small amounts of boron help in calcium uptake and prevent the shit from collecting in your kidneys - so I use just a bit of borax in water every day or two as a general alkalizing agent to go along with Calcium & Magnesium supplementation.

Feed things properly and you usually get much better results! Good luck homey.

So, after resting last night I feel fine other than my twisted ankle. I have an appointment to see a doctor next week when I get home.
The backstory is as follows. Satuday was hot and very windy (100deg, maybe 30 mph winds) so there was an extreme amount of dust and pollen in the air. That gave my sinuses hell. Sunday and Monday I had stuffy,runny nose. All that phlegm caused my throat to get sore, thus the coughing. Tues afternoon I was sitting in a rolling chair, monitoring equipment that I had worked on. I started coughing, and couldn't stop. When I leaned forward in the chair, I guess I blacked out and fell to the floor face first. Somehow my left foot got tangled in something. The guys there said I was out for maybe 30 seconds. I remember being out and thinking I was in bed and my foot was wrapped up in my sheets. I was alert and aware when I came out. Years ago I had a bad case of pneumonia and remember coughing so much I got very dizzy, but not blacking out completely.

With the amount of outages, id guess he cut a fiber trunk line or,, Sometimes fibers (individual fibers) are ran in conduit. My best guess is that he actually cut through the conduit which had many individual fibers. Depending on if the fibers are original glass or modern plastic, and how many, could be a day or a week or so to repair (glass fibers are a large pita)

What is actually causing the water to change color?

Well it was an interesting day yesterday. About 11:30 things were just going on like normal and then suddenly the power went out. I hate to be a naysayer if it makes you feel better, that's what matters and I've heard it from several people... but I have to say that from what I've read it does seem fishy. Have you ever run it without your feet in it to see what happens?

I did run it for a bit before putting my feet in, the water did get cloudy but wasnt changing colors. I got insanely hungry and thirsty like a half hour after finishing (it did say to drink 500ml water while doing this, and to eat something if need be) and there was a noticeable effect to it, though difficult to describe. More or less felt like "some shit was sucked outta me" and I woke up super super thirsty again today.

The truck driver should have been at least a little more careful since the power company was there with the bucket truck and working on the wires and poles though :lol: I hope they had good insurance, I'm sure that replacing two power poles and rewiring them all on an emergency basis isn't going to be cheap.

i warned him before the first post went in last week that it was his responsibility to pay a surveyor to ensure his line was accurate. he clearly ignored that. yesterday, i went out and looked at the spot after he dug the hole for the first post. i said, 'you are going to be pretty close to over when you install the fence on my side of the post.' today the panels start getting put on and sure as shit, looks like he is over by a few inches in the back corner of my lot where the first post went. the front is seemingly on his side.

i can't stand the guy and my gf has been having issues with him (and his horrible wife) too. if it was a friendly neighbor thing, i would totally ignore it since the error is less than a foot. since it isn't, i am not sure if i get the surveyor out here (at ~$600) to mark the lines to know. if he is over, i say he either has to make it right by the few inches that he didn't err for or ask him to buy that amount of my property at today's retail prices...

Real estate in Denver is absolutely fucking ridiculous. Back in 2012 we bought our house for $195K and at time, it was definitely a seller's market because homes were going fast and not on the market for very long. Nine years later it is still absolutely crazy. The house right next door to us went up for sale over the weekend and it's listed at $480K. :huh: All the homes in our area are similar, I think there's only 4 or 5 different models and all similar in size and rooms, and there is no fucking way that house or our house is worth anywhere close to a half million dollars.

Real estate in Denver is absolutely fucking ridiculous. Back in 2012 we bought our house for $195K and at time, it was definitely a seller's market because homes were going fast and not on the market for very long. Nine years later it is still absolutely crazy. The house right next door to us went up for sale over the weekend and it's listed at $480K. :huh: All the homes in our area are similar, I think there's only 4 or 5 different models and all similar in size and rooms, and there is no fucking way that house or our house is worth anywhere close to a half million dollars.

What is it doing?

The compressor stops running like it thinks that it has reached the temp the thermostat is set to, even though the temp in the house is warmer than the thermostat setting. We had the temp set at 74° but the temp in the house was 76° and then 77° and the compressor shit off while it was still far warmer than the setting. Not sure if it's the thermostat of the a/c unit. But, it's been 8 years since the a/c was installed, so we probably need it serviced. So we're having the HVAC company that installed our furnace a few years ago come and look at the unit. Their running an $89 tune up special right now, so we'll see what they have to say.

Damn NYC is hot and shitty and so unbelievably full of cars its ridiculous. I'm soooooooooo glad my buddy bought a house in PA and is moving away from that shithole and I wont have to go deal with 9 bazillion cars and averaging speeds of about 2.5mph for extended periods of time. There's simply not enough road for the amount of cars. Took me almost an hour and a half to go from Staten to the GW yesterday, but then I placed a call to our lady of blessed acceleration and made it home from there in an hour & 20.

Thank fuck the HVAC guys are coming out to check the a/c today, it's been miserable even in the house the last few days.

It seems that there is some kind of filter on the condenser unit that has water flowing through it. It's a tiny screen and if it gets clogged, it restricts the flow of water and if the water backs up in that area, it's like a fail safe system and the unit shuts down until the water drains enough for it to come back on. The wife said the tech knew that's what it was immediately after she told him what was wrong. Changed that out and cleaned the entire unit (the compressor outside was FILTHY) and checked everything and now it's running perfectly again. If anything, it seems to actually be running colder. Probably because we neglected in having it serviced in so long.

They were there for a couple of hours servicing it and grand total was $389 which I didn't think was all that bad all things considered. Much better than it could have been if it had been something mechanical instead.

Yes, under 400 bucks is great, and I'm not surprised it's colder if the condenser was that filthy. If you're not gonna get regular service at least every couple years you should pull the covers off and hose it out yourself. clogged coils don't cool as good and the whole system deals with higher heat and pressure which can strain the compressor, capacitor, etc.

Have you tried Rock Auto? They might still have one. But sounds like a "pick and pull" yard might be your best bet.

Also, you might get lucky and check eBay, you never know what you will find on there. My boss buys a TON of obscure/obsolete car parts on there.
