I told the dude who was in a shitty mood and he replied, "we don't do that work here". Oh really, that's interesting since I just wanted to change the oil and maybe through in an additive to clean the lines... but I replied "okay" and walked out.

Drove a few blocks to Jiffy Lube. The guy said "no, dude, you're probably just out of oil". What? He changed the oil and it was fine. I apparently just waited too long and the oil got low. But I had checked it and the level looked fine to me. :dunno:

So, fun filled day. Got the yard mowed. Tried to get pressure washer going. Seems the last time I used it, I didnt run all the gas out. Couldn't tell you why because I always do, but oh well. 3hrs later, and 2 cans of starter fluid, after cleaning carb and spark plug, it'll run for maybe a minute. Trash guys haven't shown up yet, and its after 7pm. On brighter note, I got the old 2000 model Ranger running, got all the lights working, and even the air con works. Its gonna need a new battery, wipers, and glue for rear view mirror. This is the truck I bought for my youngest daughter's first vehicle. Then sold to my wife's twin sister who lives with us. She stopped driving it over a year ago when she quit working, so it just sat. It needs a new slave cylinder, but I'm gonna have to call in one of my younger family guys to help drop the trans. Sis in law has been driving my truck for the last 2 months since she went back to work. I don't wanna be that guy, but thats no bueno. She doesn't take care of her cars historically, and my truck is a $50k half ton Chevy LTZ. I worked hard for it.

My experience: once you break a tap or extractor , its a large pita to fix from there. Best bet is a small diameter stainless steel bit , slowincrease size until bolt is completely drilled out, then heli coil it.

Damn I played too much disc golf recently, my hand is kinda angry about it. Wed thu fri sun - and yesterday I shot +23 at league because my shit just didnt want to work. Fed the beast my X2 and then my shot from the bench just had to hit a tree weird and roll 40 feet back to the water and go OB again. Humid af and really sticky, I kept hanging on to drives too long and sending them way right.

tournament was kinda wack today, they did 3 tiers, my buddy and I tied for 3rd in c class....but we had 2 or 3 guys that really did not belong in c class, I dont know why they asked people what class they wanted to be in. the guy who won c shot as good as the best score from the Bs, my buddies from A class talked shit at least :lol:

they made all long holes for the second round, one of them was normal except had a basket on top of a basket...and it was already on a hill...and it was a precision basket on top of it, half the size.

"fun" but the second round kills me, my hand felt like a catcher's mitt barely halfway through the second round. "lost" my ace disc (on a good shot) under a small foot bridge and timed out looking for it, went and re-teed and almost nailed a bs hole in one on it :lol: then by luck I was washing my discs after the hole (pissed off) and I look and way the frig all the way under that bridge was my disc.

Back from camping this weekend. Went pretty far out in the back country, way down an old forest service road up in Squamish (not far from Whistler BC), but there were still dozens of campers out there by the rivers and lakes.

We have a campfire ban on now because of how dry and hot its been... I saw several people still having campfires, knowing they won't get caught that far out of town. Really disappointing to see. This is why when things get really dry, they actually close down the provincial and national parks and service roads. Everyone thinks the rules don't apply to them. Camping without a fire isn't the best, but we strung up little LED lights and flameless candles and still had a blast just watching the stars. No need to risk burning the place down when the sun is up until almost 10pm anyways.

Fuckers ruin it for the rest of us.

Ill go talk to the folks at the sales office tomorrow and see if theres another one available. Well, wife has some medical issues. Generally she's fine, but a few times a month she needs help. Youngest daughter is on the spectrum, and even at 25, isn't really able to totally be on her own, thus they take care of each other, especially since I'm gone half the year. The studio was ormy father in laws. It was bought by him via us when he was no longer able to care for himself. A couple of years after he passed,, we remodeled it,, and it became my studio/guesthouse.
The wife/daughter situation is that they tend to argue a lot, so it'll be better for daughter to move out there. I haven't totally settled on a building for myself yet, but likely something in that size, and under $10k.

Pony, funnily enough, after the first of the year, I plan to buy a used tractor with a bucket loader to start building up dirt to put a small home on for my mother. It'll have to have its own septic and electric though. My well can supply all water needs.

It's almost 1am. About an hour ago, I looked up at the ceiling in my office and was horrified to see dozens of baby spiders crawling around. My wife left the window in here open overnight after exercising so I chose to blame her.

I don't mind spiders, I'll even let a harmless looking one live in a closet because I figure it's eating other critters.... but I draw a hard line at turning my room into a god damn spider daycare.

I've been in here for the past hour vacuuming and wiping down every surface and corner imaginable. The vacuum will be sleeping outside now that it's filled with some spider's nasty little spawn. My wife woke up and came in to see why I was vacuuming. I told her to put in earplugs and that she didn't want to know. While this is her fault in my brain, I'll spare her the horror for tonight.



I think I got most of them.... at least I haven't seen one in a little while now. I just ordered next-day delivery of a dozen spider traps but I'm still debating burning the place to the ground.

South Australia has gone into lockdown as of 6 p.m. tonight. And I have a colonoscopy tomorrow which means the purging today. So I've been waiting all day to hear from the hospital to find out if they are going ahead. They ARE, but instead of being in a local town for a relaxed afternoon procedure, it's now 7 a.m. in a distant larger town. My colleague who is driving me is a little freaked out and is asking me to be driver in the way so he can meditate in the morning. Fine.

It gets worse though. I've delayed doing the purge until the whole thing was confirmed, and with the late prep and the early procedure I risk weeping diarrhoea in the car on the way (while I'm driving).

Final nail in the coffin. The stuff I must drink looks and tastes like piss!

Well, we will make sure to never ever buy any appliances from Home Depot again. We got our Samsung (a premium brand) washer and dryer set from them several years ago. We have had nothing but problems with the dryer. We've had to pay to get it fixed twice now and then it broke AGAIN and we said fuck it, no more. We found the same model for sale on Facebook and bought it since we already had the matching washer that, so far, has been fine. The dryer we got used looked like it had been barely used, and so far, so good.

Then, on Sunday, the wife went to take a bath and at first the water coming out was just warm and by the time she was done filling the tub, the water was cold. I went down and checked it out and the pilot light was out and the tank was off. Pulled the cover and it was leaking. Badly. Had a company we've used in the past come out and look at it on Monday and they told us the tank was cracked and it was a total loss. Guess where we bought the water heater just barely 3 years ago. Yup, Home Depot. And it's a Rheem water heater, not some shitty off brand. Total warranty ran out after 2 years, but there was a limited warranty on the tank still for another 7 years. The guy that looked at the tank for us said we'd be best off to call Home depot and see if they would honor the warranty. They would, if we got authorization from Rheem. The wife spent 2 FUCKING HOURS on hold waiting to talk to someone from Rheem on Monday afternoon/evening. Finally after she got through, we got the authorization and had to call Home Depot back. Luckily, they were able to get someone out yesterday to swap out the tank, but we were still responsible for the labor which came to just under $800. :| And, to make it even better, the warranty on the new tank picks up where the warranty on the shit one left off, so instead of starting over with a 9 year warranty, we only have 6 years on the new tank.

Fuck Home Depot and their fucking factory seconds appliances. Never again.

Ok, I figured it out. "State holiday" used to be Confederate Memorial Day, observed on April 26th or 27th. They changed it to "State holiday" in 2015. Also Robert E Lee's birthday was observed on November 27th, but called State Holiday as well, but since it's so close to Thanksgiving, they won't put it on the calendar, they'll just consider it a part of the Thanksgiving break.

I tried Shell first last week and it wouldn't work for me, at least at the particular station I was at. Earlier this week I tried the Exxon/Mobil app and it worked. So weird to use your phone to actually activate the pump and use it instead of the interface on the pump itself.

I'm a Sam's Club member and they are definitely cheaper, but the line for gas there is always ridiculous. As for using the app, yeah, you just do everything thru the app and then suddenly the pump says "authorizing" and then you are good to go to pump gas. Definitely different :lol:

And it's just the same back and forth, and everybody loses patience, and tempers flare, because everybody thinks they're right and everybody thinks that everyone that disagrees with them are wrong and should take a moment to reflect on why the original person is right, except everyone is thinking that, and no one is stepping back. And it happens over and over and over again. And everybody sounds like a broken record. And then the mods and the admin get pissed off because they're tired of refereeing the same old contest every damn day, and they try hard to not get sucked in, because the mods and admin have their opinions, and they probably disagree with everyone involved too. And honestly, I don't know about other forums, but I now we all really didn't come here for this crap. This is not why this forum was set up.

So maybe everybody should just grow the fuck up, realize that you wouldn't dare argue about in real life what you're arguing about online, and find something else to talk about.
