But I have the other 3 supported DEs installed, plus some unsupported ones as well. Among the supported, I have Gnome, xfce, and whatever the other one is called and neither xfce nor the other one is showing up in the list. I really really want to see how xfce handles, because KDE and Gnome are huge. I was hoping for massive speed, which is what xfce is supposed to offer.

No, I'm multibooting OSs because I miss the complexity of Unix (that's the very first OS I ever used back when I started learning computers back in the 90s) and I want to get back into it. I'm going to load several distributions of Linux as well when I get around to it. I'm trying out the various options bundled with PC-BSD to see what I would like the best while I'm using that particular OS.

I don't really have a choice in the matter. I have to use my upper body to move. Compound on that the extra weight I put on in the past 6 years, and it's just making it harder on my joints. I know what the score is. If I'm to lose this weight, I have to exercise. All I have to do it is upper body exercises, and my upper body joints are all sketchy. It's a bad recipe.

They've got like 3 families living in the same freakin' house. When the original owners built that house, it was the man and his wife, both very nice, their two daughters, and the wife's mother in the mother-in-law apartment that they built specifically for her... and a cat. Then the wife's mother died and they couldn't stand to stay there any more. Another family moved in: Man, wife, 20-something daughter, and man's mother... and a dog. The wife and daughter both had cancer and the bills piled up.
