That Z28 sounds good! This was the era when GM was figuring out how to get good mileage AND performance. My car just failed Aircare (our emissions testing thing)

When it was new, I'd routinely get 28-29mpg on the highway (70-80mph) Last time I drove it on a long trip, it was still getting 26mpg on highway. Iirc it has about 220,000 miles on it. Always been pretty close to stock (other than some "free" mods and a cat back exhaust, and it put down 300hp, 320tq to the rear tires on the chassis dyno. On a good nigh (on street tires) it would run just under 13 seconds flat in the 1/4 mile @ 102-103mph.

I miss that car a lot actually. Been letting Mom drive it for about 2 years, finally just gave it to her.
I dunno if it would pass "aircare" or not, but it passes the sniffer tests in Houston. It's been a great car, other than the leather and plastic deteriorating . It had bad paint, due to shitty work after some hail damage years ago.

I bought $25 worth of tickets (autopick) for the Mega Millions back when it was $600 million. I didn't even win a buck so at the very least, I'm done with the autopick. But I've been watching some of the bi-weekly games down here, using the numbers as data sets to review Combinatorial and Prob/Stats concepts (it kinda sucks doing the same exercises over and over again), so I don't know. Sometimes it seems like there's a pattern, but it's always out of reach. Oh well.

What? You don't think they can do that? Hell, they probably don't even have to take the balls out of the machine. They probably have a wireless circuit inside each ball that accepts a simple binary flag. When the binary flag is 1, those are the balls that are going to be drawn, every other ball has a 0. From a technical standpoint, it would be very easy to set that up with very small lightweight circuitry.

If it's the air bursts you don't buy, then you need to watch How It's Made more often. They take out bad products with air bursts (given that we're talking about small lightweight products) off the assembly line when they don't meet quality control specs while the assembly line runs at breakneck speeds. Those lottery balls don't weigh anything at all. If they did, they wouldn't be able to bounce around inside the wind machine like they do. Again, from a technical standpoint, it would take almost nothing to control their movements with strategically placed air bursts.
