A BBQ is not a device, it's a method of cooking. What you are calling a "BBQ" is actually a grill, and it's an inferior tool to use to "bbq" meat. In fact, it's not BBQed meat at all, it's grilled meat. It's far better, and actually proper, to use a smoker when bbqing. BBQ = Low and slow smoking. And pork is the preferred meat for it down here. You do not "bbq" hot dogs and burgers, you grill them. You can bbq them, but what's the point? You want your hot dogs and hamburgers fast, and true bbqing is low and slow... at least 6 hours. It's overkill for a hamburger and a hot dog... grill them. You can bbq chicken in a slow smoker, but you need to be careful with it.

Those heathens over in Texas bbq beef, but that's what you get when you're dealing with a bunch of people who think they're their own separate country.

A BBQ is not a device, it's a method of cooking. What you are calling a "BBQ" is actually a grill, and it's an inferior tool to use to "bbq" meat. In fact, it's not BBQed meat at all, it's grilled meat. It's far better, and actually proper, to use a smoker when bbqing. BBQ = Low and slow smoking. And pork is the preferred meat for it down here. You do not "bbq" hot dogs and burgers, you grill them. You can bbq them, but what's the point? You want your hot dogs and hamburgers fast, and true bbqing is low and slow... at least 6 hours. It's overkill for a hamburger and a hot dog... grill them. You can bbq chicken in a slow smoker, but you need to be careful with it.

Those heathens over in Texas bbq beef, but that's what you get when you're dealing with a bunch of people who think they're their own separate country.

That's how we Finns see it too...we don't BBQ as much as we just plain grill in the summer. For us, it's beef too usually. And sausages...and veggies...and fish. Pork goes too as it is cheaper, but it is not as tasty when grilled or BBQ'd. Plus, Im virtually half a Texan now anyway. :lol:

Me and the girlie went out for lunch yesterday and when I left, the windows were all closed in my apartment and the a/c was running...come home a few hours later, it's 95 freaking degrees outside (35C) and my dad has the a/c off, the windows open, and a fan on in the window blowing in hot air. It was 89° in my bedroom :|
