car comes in and it won't start, I find the camshaft has snapped, cost to repair ~£1500 in parts, plus labour. Guy says "fuck that" I'd rather get a new engine". Guy buys reconditioned engine, engine gets delivered and I open the packaging.... it looks like it was thrown together by a bunch of monkeys and dragged behind the lorry all the way from the depot :facepalm:. After some discussions with the rebuilders, I can fix whats fucked on the engine. Fit all the ancillaries to the engine only to find that something doesn't fit because the engine is the wrong type :facepalm:. They want the engine back to fit the correct part for the model year of the car, so I have to take off every motherfucking thing I'd just put on :x. I got the engine back yesterday afternoon, all built up, in the car and ready to go this morning.... get the apprentice to start it.... I think "oooh.... that doesn't sound right" :-k and it doesn't start. New engine is fooked and I had to take it out again....:dance: customer isn't particularly happy, but nowhere near as happy as me.... fuck this shit

Well, it seems my judgement was in error. The generator shop seems to have been able to "repair" the parts, even though they still say nothing was wrong with the parts. Whatever. Now just a matter of waiting for my company's lovely travel agent service to arrange a flight home. Being as it's Sunday here, and Sat night back home, I'm sure it's gonna be a pita to get in contact with agent. Wish could go back to just doing the flights ourselves again.

As so often happens, other people screwed this up. We were never allowed to fly first class, but were allowed to fly business if the flight was 10hrs or more. A few folks (not even in my dept) decided they would fly business all the time, so now, none of us are allowed to arrange our own flights.
What this means, is now I have to send email to a girl in the office (which is closed on weekends) and then she sends email to agent (whom we have been having trouble getting responses from on weekends)
I bitched about it last flight home (was over a weekend as well) but if there are significant delays again, I'm going to meet with the company owner.

Any chance your car insurance will reimburse you a bit? We have some additional insurance packages offered up here that amongst other things, reimburse expenses like that up to a small limit. People often forget they have it. Just a thought :mrgreen:

I have a lanyard that I keep my keys on for that precise reason. I'm notorious for locking my keys in my car. Back in college, I would do it at least once every two weeks. The car locksmith and I were on a first name basis. Lucky my insurance policy had roadside assistance included. Everytime I renew my insurance I make sure ra's in there... just in case.

I've played both in leagues.....when people say that Rugby is the more manly sport etc, they obviously haven't played North American football..

they're two completely different animals.I would say you need more cardio to play rugger and you need more power/body mass to play football.

and to go against a common misconception...it's a lot easier to get injured playing football with padding than playing rugby without..
