I just got an email from an old friend...and I REALLY wanted to see her again, it's been about 3 years

and I'm faced with a nasty-gram bitching about how I didn't try or take the time to contact her....let's just say that I spent 10 to the 1000th power more energy trying to contact her, but she couldn't be assed to respond

fuck me...yesterday I was doing some rather light weight lifting with dumb bells (maybe 20 lbs on each)

my back felt tight so I used the dumb bells to stretch with straight legs and try to put my hands on the floor....I heard a loud POP, and my left hamstring fucking cratered...

I think I was in a little shock at first because I couldn't bear weight on my leg at all and went upstairs for a smoke

we have to move a rather large account out of our building starting tomorrow morning (over 200 pallets of assorted things that must be restacked, lots of lbendy-lifty) and I can barely bend over at the waist without peeing my pants :sad2:

fuck me I did relatively nothing to blow a hamstring, am I really that old?????

Why are flowers so damned expensive... or am I just cheap. :|

A female friend's father died young and suddenly. I want to do something nice. Not sure what's appropriate.

Are you sure they want flowers? Do they have a webpage set up at the funeral home? When my uncle died two weeks ago, his family requested that donations be made to some organizations instead of flowers.

A webpage at a funeral home? Ummm... well I guess I need more details. I was going to send them to her, personally, not to the funeral.

Most funeral homes nowadays have their own website and some pages dedicated to those they're providing services for. They'll have the dates and times of viewing, an online guestbook, and requests from the family. "In lieu of flowers..." and such.

Ok, yeah he just died yesterday so I should probably wait until I know more. Thanks.

No problem.

Wow, so I just found the obit. He was only 49

It doesn't saying anything about gifts in lieu, nor does the page on the funeral home website.

I guess I'll send a plant with a note to my friend. :-k

Garage door broke the other day when the g/f was leaving for work. Looks like the company that bought and flipped the house put in a cheap GDO and did a half assed job of installing it. The bracket that attaches the arm from the GDO to the door snapped. They had it installed all shitty and the stress finally snapped it...it didn't help that it was cheap to begin with. The door hadn't been sounding all that good TBH and we were planning on getting someone to come out and look at it, but this forced it earlier than we wanted.

Guy came out yesterday and fixed it....plus repositioned where the arm attached to the door, tightened up the chain and the rollers and did a few other things...all for $69. It pays to look through those envelopes that have all those flyers/coupons in them. :)

Pretty sure I didn't get one....there was no washer or dryer, I had to buy those, and all the appliances were brand new, including the furnace, so I have the manufacturers warranties for all those.

Take a short soak, see how that goes...then go for the extended if all is well!

My daughter had a chest infection and my GP said that baths were OK, just don't let them get too chilly. Fresh air was the best thing as long as you're dressed warmly.

Are you on Antibiotics? I had a strep/staph infection and had some heavy antibiotics for about a week and it cleared it right up. But, the stuff I took was malaria strength, and I had to stop them after a week otherwise some harm might be done, so the specialist said. I was a zombie.

But it cured it, and I have had less colds ever since!!

when I had pneumonia twice in 3 months....the doc told me that one of the worst things to do is going from a hot environment to a cold environment or vice versa...she didn't explain why but said constant change in air temps hurts your lungs when they're damaged rather than letting them heal.
