It does seem a bit early, but it's probably not really that early I guess....supposed to snow again in the mountains this weekend and the snow line will be all the way down to 8,000 feet whereas earlier this week the snow as all mostly above 10,000 feet.

The ski resorts are definitely drooling over the prospect of an early and long ski season this year.

yeah...ya get charged with the task of "make this all run smoothly" then when things run smoothly, they go hey, this runs so smoove we dont even need you here any longer. I hope he can maybe go get a job with ak travel adventure again. He left there for a lucrative offer to manage the zipline on douglas island, then they canned him once he got the place up and running and used all of his industry contacts to get the business off the ground. Era...I think the thing is, they dont really have much use for anyone when its off season there, the place is practically dead.

But the big thing is the kids...they go to this awesome magnet school there and have all kinds of opportunities. My nephew is rabid about hockey...they move somewhere around here, and what? wtf will they find in NH or VT....you guys are absolutely insane for even considering coming back to new england. In a nutshell...

About 4 months ago I was stretching out my hamstrings using dumb bells. I bent over, heard a snap and the back of my leg was on fire....could barely walk for a few weeks and had a lovely pink bruise on the back of my leg. I continued to go to work and never went to a doctor.....

A few weeks ago I bought a new car..a 2014 Toyota Corolla. All of the auto reviewers dissed the car. I liked it because it is more roomy than most compacts, has great visibility. I'm a city commuter mostly, so the car is smaller, good on gas and supposed to be reliable.

About 3 days after driving it I started getting some intense sciatica nerve pain in my back, hamstring and knee troubles in my left leg. The pain is not mild...soooo I tried to return the car to the dealer (they said go blow) and I've been trying all sorts of stretches and buying car seat cushions...smaller Toyotas have a raised left floor thingy for your foot, I imagine that's what's causing the unrest in my body.

Had a back X-ray and two ultra sounds last week....the tech told me that I have a large tear in my left leg hamstring and the ligaments in my left knee are inflamed...

I've been going to work through all of this and it's been a little....trying. I can't really blame the car because 300000 Corollas are sold every year, seems it's a 'me' thing.

Also, my manager moved into our building for 1/2 days and caught me a few times peeking at the forum :lol:


Anywho, thought I'd check in and see how things are. I'm a bit bummed out right now and will be getting an axe to make some adjustments to my new car's floorboard and driver's seat.

then it occurred to me that I do have a pre-existing injury and some pretty bad habits when sitting or laying on a couch. The car is just trying to correct them with it's brutal lumbar bucket seat and floor ergonomics :lol:

I've been working on a concrete floor for 26 years, which tends to shorten the hamstrings on anyone....constant standing, lifting...it's a normal progression.

and I'm also a firm believer in repetitive strain injury.....sitting improperly for years at a computer, laying a certain way on a couch...just the lack of activity as a person gets older....it all contributes.

like anyone with tunnel carpal syndrome....they're not born with it, it comes after using your body a certain way over time...

I know all of this pain and swelling I'm having is just a catalyst (the car) telling me that my body is out of alignment...


some guys get horrible sciatica pain because of having their wallets in the back pocket when they drive....it only takes a shift of less than a 1/2 inch in your hips and that will cause people to bear weight improperly on their thighs, feet, calf muscles..


and holy fuck I have huge calf muscles and that bastard has been cramping up nightly when I sleep...I hate that one...you wake up almost peeing your pants because the muscle is locked :lol:

Could it be a simple as just getting used to the car? I know I have to do so. The foot rest (for left foot on a manual trans car) on my wife's car took me forever to get used to. If I drove it for an hour, I'd be hobbling when I got out.

We are all built differently. Automakers as a group have to try to make the vehicles for an "average" fit. I have very long legs in comparison to my torso, so often, I'm not comfortable at all in small cars.
My wife's car has some of the most comfy seat I've ever sat in. The other ergonomics, not so much.
The most comfortable overall vehicle I've ever driven was a Hummer H3. I rented a couple of them a few years back and was blown away at how great the ergonomics fit me.

It wasn't the programming course. That's still running. I finished a business course. And technically the course isn't over yet, I just finished all the required work and exams early, including the final exam that was just posted this morning. It took me 10 minutes to complete and I got a perfect score. I probably won't see the statement for another week or two since the course is supposed to run until October 7th, next Monday. I'm taking 5 other classes besides these two, all in different topics and they all have varying lengths.

So at this point in time, there's nothing to print out. I'm sure I'll have no problem with the downloading and printing when they're distributed.

I've been out of commission for the past two days (or yesterday and again today up until now).

It seems the phone jack/ outlet that my DSL comes in through died and I had a tech from the DSL company checking things out. He replaced a bunch of old equipment on the outside of the house (nope), then replaced the DSL gateway (nope), then started messing with the outlet and wiring (voila!). So, he being the nice guy that he is, he gave me the equipment upgrades for free, but I'm sure I'll be getting a bill anyway for the tech service. No biggie.

But I swear to God, I've been going through withdrawal up until now.

red, one night both neighbors beside me had their garage doors kicked in...house number one had a whole bunch of tools and shit stolen....house number two had nothing taken but their walk in door was toasted. Our door survived the kicking but the door frame was bent and things had to be repaired.

It was a Tuesday night (work night for me) and I was up until 2:30am in the house and never heard a thing. Both neighbors have yappy dogs...and they never barked once :lol:

So the cops show up Weds morning and me and Dad have a chat with them. I asked the cop - Are we supposed to call you if we witness something like this and how long will it take you to get here?

Cop says - Yes you should but we always can't get there before they leave. I can't advise you to try anything, but if you can make some noise or even detain them somehow (then he winks) we should be able to take over from there.
