I'm not entirely sure, although I think it is. I'm only going by what I've read, since I'm still using 7.

I don't think your integrated graphics will give you any problems at all. You should have enough resources with the quad core processor (and the RAM and hard drive if you allow paging) to make up for any lack of power in there. It's kind of par for the course that graphics modules are lacking with the lack of space in laptops though, unless there's been a huge jump in development that I haven't seen since the last time I even considered buying a laptop.

Well my attempt to express my concerns turned into me completely losing it. Guess that had been building up for a while.

But I made my point, both VPs I talked to assured me that I was doing my job well, my customers were very happy, and they would like me to stay.

I made it clear that I was not going to take her shit any more.

I guess I better start watching these videos and getting this junk done and submitted.

I took a break for Christmas and sincerely do not feel like getting back into it. But I said I'd do it so I'm gonna do it, because that's what I do: I give my word, I keep my word... even if I'm just giving my word to myself. The joys of having principles.

I think 8.1 is a free upgrade with windows 8?

Expandable to 32 gigs?? :faint:

I think the 5400 speed drives are still really common in laptops for the quiet operation and the low energy consumption. They do whatever they can to keep the battery time numbers as high as possible.

Overall I like the core I7, the backlit keyboard and all the options for expansion (HDD,Memory)
Don't care for the integrated intel graphics though but I don't do any gaming and it is sufficient for 1080p playback.

5400 :hand: Replace that shit with a SSD fro $90, huge performance increase

Most of them are such douchebags, especially the ones who arent hitting their numbers. They like to blame their failures on my system, but then they never have an example of where the system is failing. This last asshole had me in the owners office complaining about how his customer had to go to a partner website to track their shipment because our system wasnt real time. So I tell him to give me an example bill number. I pull it up in our site and the partner site, the info is identical. :wtf:

Then he says, well I guess that one wasnt a problem, but its a problem. I love cunty sales peoples ghost problems

We use C.P. here at work and the tracking system is absolutely pathetic  Canada Post is basically our nation's mail service and they are on the way out....most delivery drivers with packages are getting busted now for putting door knockers on the residence, without even bringing the parcel....LAY-ZEE

Sounds like the USPS here, their tracking system is absolutely pathetic. And even their "overnight" service isn't guaranteed to be overnight depending on where it's being shipped

this happened yesterday - I made my Dad camp out in the living room, looking through our front room window. I tracked online and the entry said - scanned at Calgary facility 10:20.

My Dad actually sat there from 10:30 until about 11:20. He said the postie approached the door 'with a piece of paper in his hand', no monitor. Dad confronted him on the step, postie went back to van and pulled out the monitor...and was not impressed.

 my Dad is fckin awesome

you know what happened there...the postie had the door knocker pre-written to pick up my parcel at whatever postal outlet. Didn't even attempt to carry the monitor to the door.

I pre-warned my Dad and he was ready

Well it was a real tough week, not as much for me as my SO. Her dad, who is a very fit 60-year guy, took himself to the hospital early Tuesday with extreme cramping. At first it just seemed like appendicitis but nothing came back on the x-ray. Luckily my girlfriend was already working upstairs in the maternity ward and could continually check up on him but she called me pretty upset when the scans for appendicitis came back negative. They ended up finding a mass in his descending colon and did emergency surgery to remove a section. He's feeling way better as it had been blocking his bowel movements for a few days. We're still waiting on the biopsy results though so it's been a pretty tough couple of days for my girlfriend just waiting things out. It doesn't help that she's in med-school and knows a fair bit about oncology. Anyways, he's at home now and resting so that's the good news.

I suffered similar symptoms for a couple of years....had the upper GI and small bowel followthrough tests...among others. I was so sick daily I was hoping it was a bowel obstruction and they'd just cut me open and start removing stuff...

Well this is certainly interesting... I think my piece of shit printer's busted.

When you give it a print job, it consecutively feeds two sheets of paper all the way through without printing anything on them, then it prints on the third. After the job is done, it starts to repeat the job it just completed, except it stops feeding the second sheet of paper and says there's a paper jam. Once you clear the paper jam, it starts the already completed job again, after feeding two sheets of paper through without printing anything on them again. Then it prints again, then the paper jam again on the second sheet... you have to hit the cancel button on the piece of shit about a thousand times to get it to stop, and it only stops for a minute before it tries to start up again...

... long story short: I think my piece of shit printer's busted.

In-Network is a dentist that accepts my insurance and agrees to bill the insurer what they will cover and I pay the rest. Out-of-Network is I can choose any dentist I want, but if they aren't "in the network" (accepting the insurance), I pay everything up front and then have to apply for reimbursement from the insurance company.

Porky I don't mean to be a Gloomy Gus, but my problems started Feb 7/2001 with that exact procedure on a routine exam. She said - Your filling and I think part of the tooth is cracked, can I repair the filling? Are you in pain??? (I said no because I couldn't even feel it) Up to that point I was 36, never had any problems with dentistry and never had a headache...mouth pain in my life

She replaced an amalgam filling with that white composite shit and over the space of 3 weeks it was sensitive to first cold, then heat, then touch.

Long one short I begged for a root canal, had that done then heat (which is bad sign) kept giving me pain on the tooth area.

They adjusted all of my other teeth, tried devices and procedures and I finally got the tooth ripped out two years later.

moral and please don't laugh - do not let them fuck around with your existing occlusion/bite to accommodate the new filling/inlay. Your mouth can withstand only so much change and adjusting the enamel of other teeth is NOT the way to let another tooth 'heal'.

The bigger issue for me, and the reason I would opt for the inlay is due to having had braces. They put a gap in between you back molars to anchor the braces, when they braces were removed the gap never closed. Now I constantly have issues with food getting jammed down in there. I had the inlay done on the other side and they were able to close that gap with the inlay, worked like a charm and I was able to keep most of my original tooth.

The idea of grinding the tooth down and putting a crown on it just sounds crazy to me when there is such a better solution, so I'll be paying for it one of these days.

One more bit of advice..you don't know the tooth number do you? It's how I know which one

Sounds like it's a weight bearing tooth near the back and fuck yeah....do the inlay rather than a crown to protect the gap. The new crown will probably just be a reconstruction of the tooth itself without the inlay so the gap will still be there...

advice is - go for gold where ever possible rather than that white composite shite. Metal will flex and bend while the composite material won't....your teeth actually expand and contract naturally while eating, grinding on them and the composite or porcelain crown has very little give.

So they'll prep the tooth (shave it down on all exposed sides) and that will weaken the tooth. You cap that with an unyeilding material and the result could be worse than now...

yeah man push for the crown to at least mimic the inlay as that worked and they can lick your scrotum

Hal-9000
01-22-2014, 06:14 PM
also...as you get older you naturally lose bone level in your jaw...smoking will make the gums recede...so if you have a gap already, time will make it worse (sorry)

I'm dealing with the root of my tooth underneath the crown's margin line...10mm down....so anything I eat or drink rings the bell and the whole side of my face gets swollen...this is on top of the shitty immediate tooth pain...you gotta watch those gaps mon frere...

Its the last molar on the bottom, wisdom teeth removed all ready

Its the last molar on the bottom, wisdom teeth removed all ready

so it's 37 or 47..

I've had 37 and 36 (lower left) removed due to neuromuscular pain...in both cases the teeth were examined afterwards and the dentists said the teeth weren't compromised :( Had to take part of my jawbone out to remove 36...that was a horrible appointment...

moral here is - don't go getting teeth yanked because they're hypersensitive to temperature...I had had enough by that point (2004) so I just said yoink them...not a good choice

Another root canal and crown needed. It's the tooth right next to the one that I had all the work done on a few years ago. Infection was building up and causing all the pain. Whole right side of my face is swollen up and the pain was so severe last night that it woke me up and brought me to tears, and that doesn't happen too often as I have a fairly high tolerance to pain.

So, I'm on antibiotics for a week and he gave me some non-narcotic pain meds (tramadol) that didn't help at all. Face is still sore and very swollen, but the pain is more of a dull pain than the acute pain of last night. Hopefully the swelling will go down now that I have the antibiotics going. The insurance covered the visit last night but next week when I go back it's gonna run me about $365 for the root canal and a filling and then the dentist wants me to eventually put a crown on the tooth.

Well, the antibiotics are working, but not as fast as I would have liked. The best part is the pain is mostly gone. I mean, the tooth still hurts if I bite down on it, but the acute pain from the infection is gone pretty much. The swelling is going down so slowly though. I was hoping that by now it would have been completely gone like it was the last couple of .times that I had an infected tooth
