Since. I gave my Squier to my nephews, now I ha.ve a perfect excuse to get a new electric. Spent 2 hrs in guitar center today trying out ones in the $600 range so far my favorite is a roadhouse Fender

Spent 2 hrs in guitar center today trying out ones in the $600 range so far my favorite is a roadhouse Fender Have you thought about used? You can save quite a bit of cash that way and if the guitar is a decent one, they actually can sound better with age. My Kramer sounded tinny and not that great when I got it in the 80s but now it's a warmer sounding guitar. Same with my friend's Yamaha.

Absolutely. I scour Craigslist and the local classifieds at least once a week. I'm leaning towards the new roadhouse due to the mim price, plus the Texas special pups. The new active mode stuff is really beyond me right now, but I could see messing around with it. The vintage white body is awesome imho

having an active signal chain is kinda like adding a compressor, and perhaps an EQ, except at the stage of inside your guitar wiring. it really depends what sort of sound you want to get. if you're rockin out clapton and shit, dont bother, stay with passives, you'll like the old school sound better. but for heavy stuff, accept no substitutes. I have mostly actives on my basses, seems like passives never did that great of a job with the low string (5&6 string.) my ol fender strat still has passives in it.

Wow, my wife surprised me with another excellent gift. A JBL charge blue tooth speaker. This little thing rocks!

Is it nice? I have the Bose soundlink 2 and it sounds good but for the money Im a little underwhelmed..

I think it's awesome. The price is in the $100-125 range. Great bass mids and treble. Took it outside today, and could hear it nicely from 75 feet or so. Up close, if you have it all the way up, you can notice a bit of distortion, but that may be my piss poor mp3 files. I have to get better quality music files now, lol

I would think the bose would be better, but have never heard one, so dunno.
