New Jersey cops investigating a 911 hang up found a drunken man fighting with his wife and something a whole lot more explosive — canisters containing uranium resting on a bookcase, according to reports.
The highly illegal radioactive chemicals — in three metallic containers marked with a radioactive symbol — were resting on a book case when cops walked into the Sparta home at 5:29 p.m. Saturday, The Newark Star-Ledger reported.
Joseph Gibeau, a former computer programmer at the military research company Picatinny Arsenal, also had a slew of glass beakers valued at $500 hidden in a barn on his property, the paper reported.
Gibeau, 44, lifted the chemicals from the company, the Star-Ledger reported. He was arrested and charged with child endangerment and stolen property, according to reports.
Tests showed that the cannisters contained Uranium 235 and Americium 241, according to the Star-Ledger.
