An allegedly intoxicated woman who was arrested last month in Humble after letting her month-old baby fall out of a stroller has pleaded guilty to child endangerment.
Sandra Grohmann, 30, pleaded guilty May 19 in the 179th State District Court and was sentenced to 180 days in a state jail, according to court records.
Grohmann was arrested about 6 p.m. April 22 in the 1200 block of South Houston Avenue. A witness told police that a woman, later identified as Grohmann, appeared intoxicated as she pushed a baby in a stroller about 5 feet from a busy street.
According to the witness, the woman fell, causing the stroller to flip and the baby to fall out.
Police said officers who responded determined that Grohmann was intoxicated and called the city's Emergency Medical Service to check the infant. The baby was released to the custody of Child Protective Services.
