'Negativity changes the structure of water': Now Gwyneth Paltrow claims that even H2O has feelings in latest bizarre Goop post

She recently provoked controversy by comparing internet criticism of celebrities with being at war.

And now Gwyneth Paltrow has suggested that even water has feelings as she encourages her Goop readers to consider the impact that unkind words may have on its molecular structure.

On her blog, Gwyneth cites the work of Messages From Water author Masuru Emoto, whose studies have involved talking, shouting and playing music to water to observe the effects.

Gwyneth wrote on Goop: ‘I am fascinated by the growing science behind the energy of consciousness and its effects on matter.

‘I have long had Dr. Emoto's coffee table book on how negativity changes the structure of water, how the molecules behave differently depending on the words or music being expressed around it.’

Japanese scientist Emoto’s hypothesis began with the belief that water adopts the ‘resonance’ of the energy around it, and that polluted water can be restored through prayers and positivity.

However his findings have been widely dismissed by the scientific community for a lack of experimental rigour leaving the studies open to the influence of human error.

In 2003, Emoto declined to take part in skeptic James Randi's One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge, which would have won him $1,000,000 had he been able to replicate the experiment under test conditions.

Meanwhile, Gwyneth's estranged husband Chris Martin sent a not-so-subtle message to his wife by wearing a pin emblazoned with the word 'love' in Los Angeles on Monday.

It was almost identical to a badge he wore when the pair attended a charity function together back in January.

Chris looked in good form as he headed to his car after purchasing some books for his children at a market in the well-heeled Brentwood area.

The 37-year-old looked rather sombre, and was no doubt reflecting on his break up when he put on his badge before leaving his mansion earlier in the day.

For he had worn the same accessory, albeit in red, when he attended the swanky 3rd annual Sean Penn & Friends Help Haiti Home Gala with the saucy actress in Beverly Hills back in January.

The pair were pictured giggling uncontrollably as the enjoyed the night's festivities, which were all for a good cause of course.

They announced they were separating back in March in a joint statement titled 'Conscious Uncoupling' issued on Gwyneth's Goop website.

They wrote: 'It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate.

'"We have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been.'

The couple are parents to daughter Apple, nine, and seven-year-old son Moses.

I can understand that you guys have no experience with stuff like this and only see movies in an age where digital manipulation is easier than ever.
