After the scandal earlier this week in which Justin Bieber had to apologize for making a crude joke about African Americans and using the ‘N Word’, he has had to issue a second apology for being perhaps even more egregiously awful by singing his 2009 hit “One Less Lonely Girl” in which he replaced the word ‘girl’ with . . . the ‘N Word’.
The singer issued the following apology: “Facing my mistakes from years ago has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever dealt with. But I feel now that I need to take responsibility for those mistakes and not let them linger. I just hope that the next 14-year-old kid who doesn’t understand the power of these words does not make the same mistakes I made years ago. At the end of the day I just need to step up and own what I did.”
Is this a case of ‘Fool Me Once’? Or is all forgiven.
