When Maxim came out with their annual Hot 100 list, there were a lot of sexy celebs who were odds-on favorites to come in at the top spot. However, the honor was bestowed upon one stunning star who not many were expecting, Victoria's Secret model Candice Swanepoel.
And who was most surprised by that top-spot announcement? None other than Candice herself.
"My agent gave me the call, and I was, at first, a little bit wary," said Candice, outside the Maxim Hot 100 party. "I was like, 'Who rigged that? Who decided that? Is this a practical joke?'"
It's not hard to understand her astonishment. While Candice is clearly drop-dead gorgeous, the number one spot usually goes to celebs with more house-hold names. Also, on Maxim's 2013 Hot 100, Candice came in at number 63. Quite the jump in just 12 months.
So which gorgeous celebs did Candice expect to come in at number one?
"I was really surprised that Scarlett Johansson was not number one," Candice admitted. In fact, Johansson came in close at number two. "Or someone like Rihanna. To me, they are really sexy."
Surprisingly, Rihanna didn't make it into the top 10, just missing it at number 11.
