Kari Edwards and her live-in boyfriend were raided by a SWAT team and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security early in the morning on June 10 in Homestead, Florida.

Edwards posted part of a surveillance video (below) of the raid on YouTube.

Edwards wrote on her YouTube page that officers smashed in her door and used flashbangs while she was getting out of the shower and "demanded that I drop the towel I was covering my naked body with before snatching it off of me physically and throwing me to the ground."

"I requested to see ID and the agent pointed at his uniform that read POLICE and said, 'Isn't this ID enough for you?'" Edwards recalled.

Edwards, who used to work for the DHS, but has been disabled since in 2006, told PoliceStateUSA.com, “I know I saw ‘ICE’ on one shirt and my boyfriend saw ‘Gang Task Force’ on another. Someone’s just said, ‘Special Agent.’

“While I lay naked [on the ground] I was cuffed so tightly I could not feel my hands," Edwards recounted. "For no reason, at gunpoint. [Agents] refused to cover me, no matter how many times I asked.”

Edwards wrote on her YouTube page that the video that she posted is short and incomplete because the officers turned the video cameras against the wall (video below) and claimed they could not be recorded.

After searching and trashing her home for two hours, the officers gave Edwards a warrant signed by Judge Jonathan Goodman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida that authorized law enforcement to search for computers and electronics.

“They didn’t take any and didn’t even look at most of it,” Edwards stated. “We have a lot [of electronics] because my boyfriend fixes up broken computers to resell. I still don’t know why. I called the judge’s chambers today and the secretary said he or someone else would get back to me.”

On Tuesday, Opposing Views told you about the Florida woman whose home was raided by the Department of Homeland Security. Now, pictures of the damage done by the SWAT team who entered her home provide some insight into just how extreme the failed raid was.

Kari Edwards claims that she and her boyfriend were at their home early in the morning on June 10, when a SWAT team and agents with DHS busted down the door and used flashbangs to get the two to cooperate.

“[Officers] demanded that I drop the towel I was covering my naked body with before snatching it off of me physically and throwing me to the ground,” said Edwards. “I requested to see ID, and the agent pointed at his uniform that read POLICE and said, 'Isn't this ID enough for you?’ I know I saw ‘ICE’ on one shirt, and my boyfriend saw ‘Gang Task Force’ on another. Someone’s just said, ‘Special Agent.’ While I lay naked [on the ground] I was cuffed so tightly I could not feel my hands – for no reason, at gunpoint. [Agents] refused to cover me, no matter how many times I asked.”

Following the incident, Edwards, herself a former Department of Homeland Security employee, uploaded surveillance footage to YouTube in an effort to shed some light on the situation. She explained that the video is short because officers turned the surveillance cameras against the wall so that they couldn’t be recorded.

The couple was given a warrant that allowed the officers and agents to search for computers and other electronics, but Edwards claims that she has no idea why. Her attempts to find out the reasons behind the raid have been unsuccessful.

Now, shocking pictures have been released showing damage done to Edwards’ home by the SWAT team and DHS agents. The photos show burn marks on the ground caused by the flashbang grenades, a busted door, the glass shower door smashed, and belongings thrown around the home.

“They busted in like I was a terrorist or something,” said Edwards.

Edwards says that she has filed complaints at the highest levels but has so far received very little help.

"'Isn't this ID enough for you?'" Edwards recalled."
