Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman and Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk say the White House is sending undocumented immigrant children to their states without any notice.

Kirk, a Republican, told Fox News that 748 unaccompanied minors were transferred to areas bordering Chicago. He said the exact locations of the facilities housing the children are unknown and speculates that the White House did not want the children living conditions made public.

“These detention facilities should be completely open to the press and to the American people so that we know how what conditions are, we should be able to talk to the kids who are there,” Kirk told Fox News.

Another 200 children were sent to Nebraska without warning, GOP Gov. Heineman told the Wall Street Journal this weekend Saturday

"Governors and mayors have the right to know when the federal government is transporting a large group of individuals, in this case illegal immigrants, into your state," Heineman told The Journal. "We need to know who they are, and so far, they are saying they're not going to give us that information."

A White House official told the Journal that the children were being held with family members and sponsors while they await the outcome of immigration proceedings.

Department of Health and Human Services spokesman, Will Jenkins, says they are required by law to keep the information of unaccompanied minors confidential.

"This looks like permanent resettlement in the United States," Kirk told Fox News, "which only encourage more people to join the 'coyotes', or the criminal trafficking networks.”

He called the incident “a tremendous self-inflicted political wound" created by the administration.

If private citizens were doing this, wouldn't they be guilty of Human Trafficking? :wha:

if a private citizen did pretty much anything the government does, it'd be jail or execution.

In 2009, the BAO estimated it would cost $6.6Billion to build an effective fence across the entire border with Mexico. I'd rather spend that than over $3Billion or lawyers; judges and detention camps.

I say spend the billions and make a bug zapper type fence

this problem has been going on for decades....if they can spend 2 billion on some middle eastern war excursion they can certainly 'shore up the fences' in the homeland

Let's not go there. I'd rather not have to buy a new keyboard right now.
