CHICAGO --
Four people were killed, including an 11-year-old girl, and at least 39 others have been wounded in city shootings since Friday evening.

The girl, Shamiya Adams, was shot in the head Friday night at 9:35 p.m. while she was at a sleepover in the 3900 block of West Gladys Avenue in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, according to police and relatives.

Relatives say she was hit when a stray bullet shot through a bedroom window. One relative said she was on the porch of the home when the shooting happened.

She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 7:33 a.m. Saturday, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

"If you can't even be at home, where can you be safe?" said Terrence Redmond, the girl's 32-year-old cousin.

The most recent fatal shooting occurred Sunday morning in the Southwest Side Brighton Park neighborhood.

About 2:35 a.m., a male walked into a bar in the 4400 block of South Kedzie Avenue and began firing shots, police said.

Richard Velasquez, 24, was shot in the chest and was dead on the scene, authorities said.

Another man, in his 30s, was shot in the side and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition, police said.

Another man was killed Saturday night in the West Side Austin neighborhood, when five people were shot in two incidents that are thought to be connected, police said.

A cab driver was picking up two passengers in the 900 block of North Mayfield Avenue about 6 p.m. when shots rang out, police said.

A 21-year-old man, identified as Jaquan Hardy, and a 43-year-old woman were getting into the cab when they heard shots and realized they'd been hit, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Hardy, of the 5800 block of West Augusta Boulevard, was shot in the head and taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was pronounced dead at 8:21 p.m., authorities said.

The woman and the cab driver, a 53-year-old man, were also hit in the shooting, police said. The man was shot in the abdomen and thigh while the woman was shot in an unknown location, and both were taken to West Suburban in "stable" condition.

A short time later, two men playing basketball a few blocks away in the 900 block of North Massasoit Avenue heard what they thought were firecrackers before they realized they'd been shot, police said.

One of the men, 26, was shot in the foot and thigh, while the other, 33, was shot in the right foot, police said. Both were taken to West Suburban in "stable" condition.

Police believe the two shootings were related, police said. A police source said the man killed was a documented gang member.

Early Saturday morning on the West Side, a 30-year-old man was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in the Austin neighborhood, police said.

Brandon Wilson, 30, was found unresponsive about 3:05 a.m. inside a vehicle in the 0-100 block of North Laramie Avenue, authorities said. He had gunshot wounds to his back and neck, police said. Wilson, of the 0-100 block of North Latrobe Avenue, was dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner's office.

Most recently, a 42-year-old man was shot in the neck about 1:15 a.m. Monday in the Roseland neighborhood on the South Side.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the neck near the intersection of 111th Street and Princeton Avenue, police said. The man self-transported himself to Roseland Community Hospital -- which is about two blocks east of where he was shot -- and is in serious condition, police said.

At least 33 other people have been wounded in shootings across the city since 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Additionally, Chicago Police officers shot a male who allegedly pointed a gun at Ogden District officers about 6:15 a.m. Saturday at the corner of 27th Street and Avers Avenue. Police did not release his age or condition.

El Salvador wouldn't let them cross a sovereign border without proper authority. :hand:

What backward ass country would do that?
