The UK housing market isn’t exactly easy to figure out at the moment – and things just got even more weird as a Scottish castle is up for sale for £1.2 million, the same amount a small flat will cost you in some parts of London.
Carbisdale Castle near Invershin in the Highlands has 40 bedrooms and is 45 times the size of the average UK new build.

While it may seem a tad expensive, keep in mind that a row of tatty garages in west London were sold for £700,000 earlier this year, which is four times the cost of the average home in Britain.

The 40,000 sq/ft property, which has its own loch, is known to locals as the Castle of Spite after it was reportedly built as part of a bitter divorce agreement in 1906, making it the last castle to be built in Scotland.
After housing various dignitaries throughout the years, including being home to the Norwegian Royal Family during the Second World War, it was finally donated to the Scottish Youth Hostel Association and was used as a hostel until 2011.
It may be beautiful and cheap (for certain people), but the castle does need lots of repairs.
Also, can you imagine trying to clean the place?
