Police raided the home of a Sicklerville man Friday after he allegedly sold heroin to an undercover officer while he was on electronically monitored house arrest.

Officers with the Gloucester Township Police Department Special Response Team and Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at the Hampshire Road home of 25-year-old Michael Mack.

Agents recovered what they described as “a significant quantity of heroin,” along with marijuana, narcotics packaging materials and a pistol, according to investigators.

A specially-trained Gloucester Township Police detective and licensed clinical social worker were on hand to offer counseling services to a woman and very young child who were inside the home at the time of the search, police said.

The woman is not facing charges. Police have notified the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency.

Mack, who was on house arrest after pleading guilty in June to drug distribution offenses, is charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was jailed in lieu of $50,000 full cash bail.

Police, in a news release, said the bust came as part of “a continued effort in addressing the national problem of drug abuse, more specifically heroin and prescription pills.”
