Vermont State Police took a father and his two sons into custody, saying all three were intoxicated behind the wheel.
Just before 8 p.m. Saturday evening, state police responded to a single-vehicle rollover with possible injuries on Cambridge Road near Metcalf Pond Road in Fletcher, Vermont.
A game warden reported the scene and notified state police.
Police say the operator of the vehicle was Joshua B. Woodward, 22, of Fairfax, Vt. After they discovered Woodward had a criminally suspended license, it was found he was also operating the motor vehicle while intoxicated. A preliminary breath test found he was three times over the legal limit.
Woodward was arrested and processed for his second DUI after he was released from Fletcher Allen Hospital.
While on the scene, troopers say Woodward's brother Nicholas A. Woodward, 19, of Fairfax, drove up to check on his brother. Police observed that he was under the influence as well, and distributed a breath test which confirmed his impairment. He was charged for DUI. This is his second incident in two weeks for getting arrested and charged with DUI.
While this was going on, their father Brian Woodward got behind the wheel of Nicholas's truck and drove closer to the scene.
The warden said Brian appeared impaired and police ordered him to stop the vehicle. Brian was breathalyzed and was found to be approximately three times over the legal BAC as well. He was arrested and charged with DUI.
Their hearings will take place over the next month.
