What I built isn't meant for quick draw. It's meant to keep them secure and hidden in the house.

I was reading one person who said they built theirs using a couple of those plastic locks that keep cupboards closed from kids... on one hand I like that because you could bust it open very quickly in a real emergency emergency... on the other hand, it's not terrible secure. You're relying heavily on it being hidden.

Mine runs a magnetic lock. If you don't have a magnet, and know how to unlock it, you aren't.

It was drop tested from the second floor of my garage onto concrete and didn't open.
