Lingerie tycoon Michelle Mone says she no longer feels safe in Scotland as a result of the threats she has suffered for supporting the No campaign.

The Ultimo founder was subjected to a torrent of abuse from trolls after she wrote of her fears about an independent Scotland, including losing the pound.

The 42-year-old, from Glasgow, also vowed to move to England if the vote went in favour of breaking up the Union.

‘It’s a very sad day when you can’t voice an opinion without getting threats,’ she told The Mail on Sunday. ‘Yet, for the first time, I don’t feel safe in Scotland and that’s horrible – it’s my home.

‘I’m not a murderer, a thief or a rapist. I’m a good person who employs a lot of people in Scotland – both Yes and No supporters – and we all get on.’

Her comments came as reports of an anti-English group targeting No campaign rallies began to emerge.

‘Ultra-nationalist’ group Siol nan Gaidheal was reportedly behind the disruption that led to No campaigner Jim Murphy postponing his rallies.

The East Renfrewshire MP suspended his tour after a mob pelted him with eggs in Kirkcaldy, Fife.
