That's actually a concern at times, :lol:
I was taught at an early age to ALWAYS shake my boots out before putting them on.
Things I've found in my boots over the years:
Numerous mice and rats thanks to a "tamed" house cat I had. I suspect he :rolf: when I'd forget to check the boots in the morning.
Snakes (2 times that I remember)
Scorpions,
Spiders,

That said, I don't wear them with those type heels. I'm 6'2" and prefer the "roper" style heels:
