MOSCOW– Two Russian Bigfoot researchers believe they have proof of the existence of the white Bigfoot frequenting the city’s surroundings.

Biophysical technologist Andrei Stroganov and his partner, Igor Burtsev, say they were investigating reports of a sighting in the Solnechnogorsk district, just outside Moscow, when they found the piece of evidence in July.

According to the men, there was a dead 6-foot tree that appeared to have been put back in the earth and exhibited “horizontal scratches”. These marks, they said, had been purportedly created by a large primate with a 9-inch wide paw . A chunk of bark from the tree was then collected by the couple and put inside a glass container.

Burtsev believes these cryptids are human-animal hybrids that mark their territory with stick structures; other researchers theorize that Bigfoot builds these wood structures to serve as nests or shelters.

They are sending samples of their findings to a lab in Alabama in order to determine its nature and to find possible DNA traces.

“The Bigfoot scene in America is bigger,” Burtsev said.

The Yeti, also known as Almas -wild man- by Mongolians, is an alleged Bigfoot-like creature presumed to live in the Caucasus and southern Mongolia.

In 1430, a German writer reportedly came across one of these animals while a prisoner in Mongolia.

In 1963, British professor Myra Shackley claimed to have observed an entire family of Almases in the same region.

And while some people have expressed their concerns about the creature’s proximity to Moscow, Stroganov says he is not worried about it.

“They are benevolent and need our protection,” he told the Moscow Times.
