A shop has pulled a t-shirt that described rape as ‘a snuggle with a struggle’ after causing widespread disgust.

The SM department store in the Philippines stocked the unpleasant garment in the boys’ clothing section which was discovered by shopper Karen Kunawicz.

The logo emblazoned across the front read, ‘It’s not rape, it’s a snuggle with a struggle.’

The slogan is so implausibly offensive that you almost wish it occurred due to some awful mix-up in translation.

But given the rhyme and the perverse set of hands, it would appear that someone’s sick sense of humour got the better of them.

On her Facebook page, Karen wrote, ‘Really? In the boy’s section?…SM – the same mall that has the daily angelus and refused to show Tim Burton’s “Sweeney Todd” in the cinemas?’

Her photo of the shirt has been shared over 4,000 times. SM department stores has since tweeted this statement:
