OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — An 11-year-old girl reportedly saved her mother’s life this week, shooting the woman’s ex-boyfriend as he allegedly attacked with a knife.
The suspect, Lenoardo Henry, allegedly broke into the trailer home of his former girlfriend and her five children and began stabbing the woman, police said. The woman suffered wounds to the eye, neck, and chest.
The woman did have a restraining order against the man, KFOR reported.
One of the woman’s children, an 11-year-old girl, came upon the scene and apparently grabbed a nearby gun. She managed to shoot the suspect several times, police said.
“What she did, the 11-year-old, was amazing,” said neighbor Shiree Marsee.
The suspect staggered out of the home and was subsequently arrested. He was hospitalized and expected to survive to face charges.
According to a protective order, the victim claimed Henry “had been molesting (several kids) in the middle of the night for several years.”
The victim added one week ago she “was afraid he is going to hurt her and the children because she reported the abuse.”
Police said no charges are pending against the child.
