There are reports that rapper Akon recently performed inside a giant bubble during a show in Goma, a city in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

According to The Source, the five-time Grammy nominee got into a giant plastic protective bubble before he crowd surfed through the audience.

Thousands of fans pushed Akon's bubble around while armed United Nation Peacekeepers looked on.

Akon’s concert was supposed to help bring peace to the country, which has experienced violence for about two decades. The U.S. State Department recommends that Americans not travel to the Congo because of the danger.

Before the show, 60,000 free tickets were given out. The free concert was promoted by Peace One Day as part of the United Nations’ International Day Of Peace, notes VibeWeekly.com.

Akon, who owns diamond mines in South Africa, also traveled to Kenya to discuss a project that would provide electricity for poor families.
