GIMP! Good enough for any photoshop novice...but if you like layers and all the additional shit PS has....you'll find gimp a little lacking.

I put Gimp on my daughters computer and she does all kinds of cool stuff with it.. A definite recommend.

I use it at work, but for at home I need PS, I do way too much with layering and other effects.
