An unidentified man reportedly yelled that he had Ebola during an U.S. Airways flight from Philadelphia to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Mediate.com reports that the man sneezed during the fight and yelled “ˇTengo ébola!” which translates to “I have Ebola."
The unidentified passenger also coughed and shouted, “I’ve been to Africa!” a Punta Cana International Airport official told Fox News Latino.
The Ebola outbreak in West Africa has killed nearly 4,000 people.
After the U.S. airways plane landed in Punta Cana, a flight attendant called the man an “idiot” and tried to calm passengers by saying it was a hoax (video below).
Minutes later, workers in Hazmat suits escorted the man off the plane to an airport medical center and isolated the passengers on the plane for more than hour.
However, the man did not have a fever, a major symptom of Ebola, and claimed, “I ain’t from Africa.”
