An Arizona county party official alleges that he saw a man stuffing “hundreds” of ballots in a ballot box.
A.J. LaFaro, chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Party, said that he was working with the elections staff during the early ballots processing of the Aug. 26 primary election cycle.
LaFaro claims that he was seated at one of the cubicles when he heard a loud thud, which turned out to be a man stuffing “hundreds” of ballots into the ballot box.
LaFaro said that “A person wearing a Citizens for a Better Arizona T-shirt dropped a large box of hundreds of early ballots on the table and started stuffing the ballot box as I watched in amazement.” LaFaro later told a local news outlet that the Aug. 25 incident was caught on surveillance video.
The chairman described the man as a “vulgar, disrespectful, violent thug” with “no respect for our laws.”
LaFaro said that the man asked him “What’s your problem?” to which he responded, “I don’t have a problem.” The man reportedly went on to say, “Stop watching me. You’re annoying me.” When LaFaro told the man that one of his ballots wasn’t sealed, the man responded, “It’s none of your business.”
When LaFaro asked the man what his name was, the man reportedly said, “Go f*** yourself. I don’t have to tell you who I am.”
The chairman said that he later submitted a public information request and obtained the surveillance video of the incident. He noted that he would have followed the man to his car to get his tag number had he not “feared for [his] life.”
“America used to be a nation of laws where one person had one vote,” LaFaro said. “I’m sad to say not anymore.”
The Blaze reports that attempts to contact Maricopa County officials to find out whether any investigation is ongoing have been unsuccessful.
