Too long to post here. Long story short, its just about the plunder of Switzerland's gold reserves. Porky will probably read this, but the rest of yas, probably not  (Yes, changing rules and putting gold on the market to be "sold for profit" while at the same time removing the hard currency peg and letting it float wherever has.....what sort of consequences?)

(Do I need to put in reminders about how places like Libya was on the cusp of backing their currency in gold, and demanding gold for oil....ya know, until the place magically became overrun with terrorists and we had to bomb the fuck out of it, collapse the government, and...Saddam waves.)

So who bought all the gold?

"the market"

that was the entire ploy - not to necessarily "steal" their gold, but to drain the reserves, and it was all set up at a preposterous bottom in the gold price

all to get switzerland off of sound money and into the international banking scheme where countries have no money or resources, only debt to huge banks

Iceland was the *only* place where people had the balls to do the right thing.

I get that, but who is "the market" where is the gold, what country has it? Someone had to pay for it.

the market = just about anyone. russia, china, india, have all been buying gold like mad lately, india even went so far as to outlaw people from buying or exporting it.

and yall had best be buying also, because when the curtain gets pulled back and yall see the back of the theater and what dollars are truly worth, you'll be fuggin kicking yourself if you didnt.

whereas in america, no such spectacle was made, they just quietly situated JP morgans vault right down the street from the federal reserve's, conveniently connected with a tunnel.

and made no mention when a ton or a hundred or two disappeared on 9-11, it must have melted into the ground and flowed away to that special place.

Who do you buy gold from? Every time I look into it it seems the companies are all scammers. Including the one lance posted

that's why you buy standardized bullion, so it has a noted and measured weight, american eagles, canadian maple leafs. unless you're a huge meat spinner and can afford bars, of course  but in that case I'd be having them checked for tungsten  you basically just have to look around and see who's charging what for a premium. the biggest thing you want is physical delivery ASAP, after that just look around and see who charges what, its usually a few % over the spot price.

BUT, if you really want to do it smart, then of course that requires more legwork. go around to pawn shops and shit and buy whatever they have for standardized coins, pay cash. will probably be a little more of a premium, unfortunately - but here's the big thing, its under the radar. if you rack up a ton of gold purchases and the price goes up 400 bucks an ounce, the feds have record of your purchase, and that's fuggin income, baby.

Rosland is a scam. AcidTrip had given me a list of reputable sites to use once a while ago, but I lost it. He'd know.

That was for a roll of 10, but you can of course buy them individually as well. Stay with the Canadian, US, and Chinese gold bullion coins and you can't go wrong.

I looked around a little bit. Don't quote me on this, but it looks like apmex, jmbullion, and usagold are ok sites. I could be wrong about them, but they're BBB accredited. That's usually a good sign.

Of course, if you could find a local precious metals dealer close to you, I think that would be ideal.
