Kelli Knutson and Logan Jackson were arrested on Sunday evening for allegedly having sex inside a car that was parked outside a jail in Springfield, Ore.
According to police, the sexual spectacle was causing a traffic jam as onlookers stopped to gawk at the action (video below).
The Springfield Police Department said in a press release, "Officers responded to the front of the jail and found the couple still actively engaged."
Knutson and Jackson were charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct, reports the New York Daily News.
Knutson was taken to the Lane County Jail, while Jackson was booked at the Springfield Municipal Jail.
Sgt. Rich Charboneau said the couple had been to a nearby strip club before allegedly engaging in intercourse.
Knutson and Jackson reportedly told police that they were "caught up in the moment" and didn't realize they created a traffic jam outside the Springfield Municipal Jail.
“We'd normally tell them to go someplace that's safer than a parking lot, or wherever we might find them," Sgt. Charboneau told KVAL. "In this case, we had traffic being slowed down, we had someone complaining about it, so we had to take action.”
