Tommy Wall was arrested back on June 24 and charged with raping a 13-year-old girl and participating in child pornography, but all the charges were dropped in October.

A judge in Harnett County, N.C. issued a dismissal statement that read: "Further investigation revealed wrong person charged."

While Wall spent 105 days in jail, his home in Willow Spring, N.C., was auctioned off. He also lost his job, noted the News Observer.

"I'm jobless, homeless, living with my mom, at 50 years old, just trying to put the pieces back together," Wall told WRAL. "It's just been a train wreck. My life went from [a reputation of] being a good person to being the worst person in the world. It was destroyed in 24 hours."

According to Wall's court-appointed attorney Fred Webb, the Harnett County Sheriff's Office confiscated a video of a man, who was bald like Wall, from an alleged child pornography ring operating inside a day care center.

"They had the wrong person," stated Webb. "Once the prosecution determined that's what occurred, they promptly issued a dismissal in the case."

"The man had a bald head and a mole the size of a quarter on the top of his head," Wall added. "You know, that wasn't me."

Thanks to the mistake made by the Harnett County Sheriff's Office, Wall is financially devastated.

"The investigation should have been done a lot better," stated Webb. "He has a big, big obstacle to overcome, because once you’ve been targeted and tainted with such a crime as this, it's going to follow you wherever you go."

No way they got to court, foreclosed, and sold it in 105 days. I would assume the police seized it, sold it, and kept the cash.

same sort of progression...he misses 3 monthly payments, cops know he's incarcerated and they take it for auction
