Angela Box, a third grade teacher at Ray Daily Elementary school, will reportedly resign after making anti-Muslim and anti-Obama remarks in November.
Trustees of the Houston Independent School District (HISD) approved a three-month pay package for Cox last Thursday.
"District administrators recommended accepting Box's offer of resignation after determining it was in the best interest of the school and its students," the HISD said in a statement.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Box referred to Muslims as "bacon-haters" and said, "Can't Ebola just take one for the team and take out Obama?" during an appearance on the public access television show "Tommy's Garage" (video below).
Talking Points Memo noted that Box also said, "Every normal human being in the world knows that goat-f------ Muslims and, oh, boy-f------- Muslims, are the evil of the world."
Last Month, Box claimed that she didn't make any racist remarks and would not be resigning from her teaching job.
"I don't believe in judging people by the color of their skin. I, actually, like Martin Luther King did, shockingly, judge people by the content of their character," Box told KHOU.
Box claimed in a recent statement that she was the victim of "character assassination" by Houston community activist Quanell X.
"As I have said before, opposing President Obama and sounding the alarm about radical Islam does not make me a racist," Box said in a statement.
"I am considering all my legal options regarding the conduct from Mr. X and others. I expect to have an announcement as early as next Monday regarding my future steps," added Box.
