A "golf ball bandit" has been arrested in Maryland Heights, Missouri, after stealing 42,000 balls.

According to KSDK.com, 27-year-old Nathan Brown staged three overnight heists at his local driving range and made off with an estimated $20,000 worth of balls.

What has he been doing with all these golf balls? Well, that's where the real mystery lies.

As per Eurosport:

While Brown admitted the theft as soon as police tracked him down (thanks to a tip-off) he has so far refused to say what he's done with them.

Some 2,000 of the balls have been recovered. The whereabouts of the remainder is a total mystery.

So that means 40,000 range balls are unaccounted for in the greater St Louis area.

Where could they even be hidden?

We shall be keeping our eyes peeled on how this mystery plays out.

Range balls are shite anyway  Well, unless you're on a PGA Tour range where they have brand new titleists!
