Where's the bell when you need it? Dustin Diamond could've used a save in the early hours of Friday, Dec. 26, when he was arrested by the local police force in Ozaukee County, Wisc.
The Port Washington Police Department confirms to Us Weekly that Diamond, 37, was taken into custody on Friday morning.
According to TMZ, the Saved by the Bell alum faces charges of reckless endangerment in the first degree, possession of a switchblade, and carrying a concealed weapon. The publication reports that the former child actor allegedly endangered an unnamed victim's life and was given a $1,000 bail.
Diamond was still in custody midday and will appear in court at 1:30 p.m. local time, the Port Washington P.D. confirms to Us. The police force released a statement on Friday reading, "At approximately 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, December 25, 2014, the Port Washington Police Department responded to the Grand Ave. Saloon for reports of a stabbing. Evidence quickly gathered at the scene indicates a male, age 37, had stabbed another male patron and left the bar in a white SUV with his 27-year-old girlfriend. Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle and suspects and took both into custody."
"Further investigation revealed the suspects were in the Grand Ave Saloon where an altercation took place," the statement continued. "The altercation escalated to the point where a victim was stabbed by the 37-year-old suspect. The knife was recovered in his vehicle. The male suspect is still at the Ozaukee County Jail and the female suspect has been booked and released... Requested charges include, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Switch Blade Knife, and First Degree Recklessly endangering Safety. Charges of Disorderly Conduct were requested on the female suspect... The male suspect will appear in front of Ozaukee County Courts this afternoon. The victim suffered not life threatening wounds, has been treated, and is recovering at home."
After starring as Samuel "Screech" Powers in Saved By the Bell in the 1990s, Diamond continued his acting career, making appearances in 2002's Big Fat Liar and 2005's 13th Grade, before his famous 2006 foray into the adult film world.
In recent years, Diamond went after other ventures, giving reality TV a go with stints on Celebrity Fit Club and Celebrity Big Brother, and penning a 2009 tell-all entitled Behind the Bell, which exposed alleged drug use, partying, and scandals in the Saved By the Bell cast.
