A woman has been charged with murder after her newborn baby was set on fire in the middle of a road.
Hyphernkemberly Dorvilier, 22, of Pemberton Township in New Jersey, US, is accused of dousing her child in an accelerant before watching the baby in flames.
Police were called to a residential road 30 miles east of Philadelphia.
The child was alive and breathing and flown to hospital where it died two hours later, report Newsday.
Officers said they were unsure of the motive.
Dorvilier was arrested Friday night following the incident and charged with murder on Saturday.
Prosecutor Robert Bernardi said details of the baby’s birth were still being investigated.
The baby’s age has not been disclosed.
