ASPEN, Colo. - The father of reality TV star Heidi Montag was arrested Thursday on child sex assault and incest charges in Aspen.
William Joseph Montag, 67, of Glenwood Springs, was taken into custody on a statewide extradition warrant issued by the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, according to the Aspen Police Department.
Montag is accused of sexually assaulting a child in the 1990s, according an Arapahoe County Court document. He is charged with three felony counts of aggravated incest and three felony counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.
The warrant specifies that Montag be held without bond. He was still in the Aspen-Pitkin County Jail on Friday afternoon.
Aspen police said they were alerted on Thursday that Montag was skiing in Aspen by the Glenwood Springs branch of the FBI.
Officers were able to track Montag to his place of employment, Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club, where he was arrested without incident.
Montag works as an alpine skiing coach and has been suspended pending the outcome of the criminal investigation, his employer, Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club, said in a statement.
The club's executive director, Mark Cole, said in the statement , "The alleged incident does not involve anyone under his care at AVSC or the Aspen area. The investigation is ongoing and we are cooperating with authorities every step of the way."
"The safety, personal and physical well-being of our participants is the first priority for AVSC. We follow USSA guidelines for background screening of all who work with our athletes. We also provide coach training each year in Safe Sport – a focus on creating an environment that protects all aspects of the health and well-being of our athletes," Cole said.
TMZ is reporting that Montag is accused of committing years of sexual abuse and incest with a 13-year-old girl, between 1993 and 1998 -- which does not line up with Heidi or her sister, Holly.

Montag's only prior arrest in Colorado was for driving while ability impaired in Glenwood Springs in 1992. He was convicted of DWAI, according to court records.
