Albuquerque police say a woman thought she was selling drugs to a buyer. Instead, she dialed the wrong number and called an APD detective.

Police say Renea Lucero, 30, called a detective, mistaking him for someone else, and offered him drugs.

About 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, the detective picked up a phone call to his department-issued cell phone and got an unexpected offer. Court documents that the detective filed show that he knew Renea Lucero from a prior criminal case. But he says in the report that he didn't think Lucero realized who she had dialed.

She reportedly asked him if he needed any heroin or cocaine. The detective used the opportunity to set up a drug bust.

He called for backup, and officers arranged to meet Lucero at San Mateo and Gibson for the deal. When they met up, the detective says Lucero pulled the heroin out of her bra and handed it to her driver, Luciano Navarro.

The detective said Navarro weighed out the heroin and sold it to him for $30. Just a few minutes later, Navarro, Lucero and a woman in the back seat of the car were all arrested.

According to court documents, Lucero admitted that she called him and mistook him for her boyfriend's friend. She allegedly told the detective she was just trying to get enough money for gas to get to Los Lunas.
