I dont really care one way or the other, I just know how media works, and someone rather anointed such as he to begin with will get out with vacation and little else.

Im putting it all in not coming back since the bet is for 6 months but pays out at the end of next month

Like I stated in the thread: NBC has sicked the accounting department on him. That's bad. That means they're looking for a reason to can him and save themselves some cash in the process. They're done with him.

I think he'll return to media, but not in his old guise. I think he'll be offered something via an Internet media-style job.

NBC has scrubbed Williams' name from the Nightly News. Looks like they're starting the process of cutting ties.

Brian Williams Betting Odds – Books have not offered odds on NBC News anchor Brian Williams future after it was revealed he had exaggerated a story from Iraq, claiming his helicopter had been hit by enemy fire when in fact it had not been. It has been a week and this is one of the most popular stories on the Net and on television (not surprisingly). Why the bookies have shied away from this particular wagering option is anybody’s guess.

Gambling911.com would offer odds of 1-6 that Williams will not be returning to his NBC News anchor seat after the network suspended him without pay Tuesday evening.

Interestingly enough, there are some murmurs of Williams taking over the anchor chair at the “Daily Show”.

Odds updated - only affects new wagers

brian williams would make a mockery of the daily show

I think its funny they didnt just immediately fire him....wtf, caught red handed, I mean cmon

PorkChopSandwiches
04-27-2015, 01:48 PM
It probably would have cost them a fortune to break his contract

FBD
04-27-2015, 02:32 PM
I guess his contract was loose enough that it didnt cover lying and blatant journalistic malpractice

(sounds like an executive spot at any large company, really....here....here's millions to sit on your ass, with guaranteed tens of millions when you leave, just because cash "costs nothing"...and oh, you have pretty much no standard to be held to, whatsoever )

PorkChopSandwiches
04-27-2015, 03:09 PM
Pretty much

FBD
04-27-2015, 03:31 PM
all executives should have a clause in their contracts that says "by the way, if the company happens to lose like 70% of its value during your tenure, you will be immediately fired with no severance pay"

http://pagesix.com/2015/06/07/nbc-may-decide-brian-williams-future-this-week/

A decision about Brian Williams’ fate at NBC could come as early as this week — and it looks like the embattled anchor won’t be returning to “NBC Nightly News.”
Sources tell Page Six that Williams will likely lose his anchor chair following the lengthy internal investigation into his alleged tall tales.

But NBC brass — led by NBCUniversal CEO and president Steve Burke and NBC News chairman Andy Lack — have been looking for a way to keep him at the network in a different, yet-to-be-agreed-upon role. One source told us, “Brian’s six-month suspension is over in early August, and NBC chiefs are under pressure to come up with a solution. The talks are complicated and are ongoing, and there has not yet been a deal. But it is likely he won’t be back in the ‘Nightly’ anchor chair. A decision could be made as early as this week, if all sides can reach an agreement.”

Industry insiders said NBC News staff, led by Lack, have been encouraged to think of alternative roles for Williams.

But we are told the veteran anchor and his hard-charging attorney Robert Barnett have yet to agree and sign off on an alternative role. One insider said, “Many options are still on the table and are still being discussed, including ways to keep Brian at the network, or even for him to leave the network completely.”

The Post previously reported that Williams “would not go without a fight” and would have to be paid a large portion of his contract, which is worth about $10 million a year for five years.

NBC declined to comment.
